🔊 Family Resources Fair- This Saturday!
🍏This Saturday, April 13th we will be hosting our second Family Resource Fair. The event will be held from 10-12 PM in the Naperville Central High School Cafeteria. Naperville 203 is surrounded by several community resources which benefit our students and families. There will be over 50 organizations sharing information. Our goal is to provide a “one-stop location” for families to access, speak with, and gain knowledge of resources, programs, services and supports that benefit families within our community. 🍏 All are welcome! 🍏
Parent/Guardian E-Learning Survey
In advance of our district E-Learning plan renewal and at the request of the Board of Education, we are asking for input from parents/guardians via the survey below.
This anonymous survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete depending on the number of students in your household. The survey will be open until Friday, April 26.
You only need to complete the survey once for your family.
Special Education Services for Parents of Home-Schooled Students
On Thursday, May 16, 2024, Naperville 203 will hold a Zoom meeting from 10:00 am-10:30 a.m. for non-public schools and 11:00 am -11:30 a.m. to discuss the district’s plan for providing special education services to students with disabilities who attend private schools or who are home-schooled within the Naperville District 203 boundaries. RSVP to attend is required by May 10th.
Herbicide Notification
As a result of legislation, Public Act 91-0525 and Public Act 91-0099, schools are required to provide written notification to all parents/guardians of students and staff before such Herbicide application. This Talk203 item qualifies as such.
The fertilizer and broadleaf weed control application at all District Elementary, Junior High, High School and Administrative sites will be performed by Trugreen Lawn Care during the week of April 13th, April 18th and May 2nd, weather permitting.
Applicators will avoid dates/times when scheduled activities are to take place on school grounds.

CAPS Safety Series-Public Safety Response to Mental Health Crises
Please join the next Safety Series event, presented by CAPS, at City Hall's Council Chambers on April 18 from 6pm-7:30pm! Chief Arres and Eirene Boulougouris from the Naperville Police Department will be sharing invaluable insights on spotting signs and symptoms of mental health challenges.

Naperville 203 AAPI Heritage Month Community Event
Thursday, May 2, 2024 - 6:00 - 8:30 PM - Kennedy Junior High, 2929 Green Trails Dr., Lisle
This year’s Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month Community Event will engage the community in conversations about mental wellness as well as showcase the rich cultural heritage of the AAPI community. This event will include a series of engaging and informative panel discussions including community leaders and Naperville 203 high school students. For elementary students, there will be crafts and story time featuring author Rich Lo and a dance workshop for secondary students. All members of the Naperville 203 community and the surrounding community (adults and students) are welcome to come together to learn and celebrate the contributions and diverse cultures of the AAPI community.

High School Operation Snowball 3-day retreat
Bus seats and cabin bunks are filling up for the iconic high school overnight retreat known as Snowball! The upcoming weekend retreat is April 26-28 at Camp Lorado Taft. Transportation is provided to the overnight event, as well as meals, and Friday is considered an excused absence for a field trip. This teen-led/adult-guided retreat - themed "We Can See Clearly Now" - offers students the opportunity to discover something about themselves, make friends, relax and have some fun. Middle School Parent and Student Surveys, High School Student Surveys
Your input is needed on the Power of Choice campaign! The Power of Choice is a project of 360 Youth Services and works collaboratively with Districts 203 & 204 to provide campaigns for youth, parents and the schools. One campaign is focused on supporting parents in talking with their middle schooler about not using alcohol; one is focused on educating 6th to 8th grade students to correct misconceptions regarding e-cigarette/vaping; and another focused on supporting high school students in making healthy choices regarding alcohol and other substance use. The Power of Choice is asking middle school parents, middle school youth, and high school teens to participate in one of the three quick surveys below, to provide feedback regarding where they receive information.

My Sister Liv: Max's Mission and KidsMatter invite you to a special showing of the award-winning documentary "My Sister Liv" at Metea Valley High School on Tuesday, April 23 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The film is approximately an hour long followed by a panel discussion with experts in the field of suicide. The film is open to anyone in the community ages 14 and up. Please note that the content is not appropriate for children. The film is powerful, engaging, and honest about mental illness, suicide and the aftershocks that occur when a family and community lose someone they love to suicide. The showing is free but seating is limited. Register here.
Youth Mental Health First Aid Class for Parents on April 25 or 27: Parents and adults working with youth (ages 6-18) are invited to learn how to help when a young person is experiencing a mental health or addiction challenge or is in crisis. Participants complete a 2-hour online class and then may attend either of 2 in-person classes to become certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid. Register here for the class on Thursday, April 25 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Naperville 203 Administration Building or here for the class on Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Waubonsie Valley High School. Naperville Community Unit School District 203 Home & School, Indian Prairie School District 204, West Aurora School District 129, and KidsMatter are partnering together to offer this training.
Free Monthly Mental Health Webinars: Linden Oaks offers free mental health webinars for parents with teens. Webinars will take place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. Register Here
