🌟✨ Inspiring others through AI! 🌟✨
We're thrilled to highlight the incredible collaboration and innovation happening within our Biology team! Recently, they embarked on a journey through the world of artificial intelligence, creating engaging and immersive activities to enhance student learning.
In a series of dynamic sessions, students had the opportunity to explore four different rooms, each brimming with exciting activities. From Zapped challenges to Taboo games, Breakout Boxes, Cell transplant board games, and more, every activity was designed to ignite curiosity and deepen understanding.
A special shoutout goes to Ms. Eckholm for her exceptional creativity and dedication in crafting many of these innovative activities using AI tools. Her ingenuity has truly transformed the learning experience for our students, making biology come alive in ways we never imagined.
We also extend our gratitude to the entire Biology team for their collaborative efforts and enthusiastic embrace of AI technology. Their commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional instruction and integrating cutting-edge tools into their teaching is truly commendable.
Together, they are not only inspiring our students to explore the wonders of biology but also setting a shining example for educators everywhere. Thank you, Biology team, for your unwavering dedication to excellence and for leading the way in leveraging AI to enrich instruction! 🌟🔬🧬
🌟✨ Celebrating Excellence in PBIS! ✨🌟
This week, we had the honor of hosting our PBIS Walkthrough, and we're thrilled to share the glowing feedback we received from our behavior coach, Mr. Tyuan Duncan!
Mr. Duncan was thoroughly impressed with our school's commitment to PBIS. From the moment he stepped through our doors, he was greeted with an atmosphere of positivity, warmth, and enthusiasm that permeated every aspect of our school community.
One of the standout features Mr. Duncan noted was our dedication to recognition initiatives. These initiatives not only recognize individual achievements but also foster a culture of appreciation and encouragement throughout our school.
Additionally, Mr. Duncan commended our consistent and aligned advisement lessons, which effectively reinforce our PBIS principles and expectations. Our staff's commitment to delivering engaging and meaningful advisement sessions ensures that every student understands and embodies the core values of our PBIS matrix.
What truly set our school apart, however, was the depth of understanding and ownership demonstrated by our students. Mr. Duncan was impressed to find that every single student and staff member he spoke to could articulate the elements within our PBIS matrix with clarity and confidence. Even more remarkable was the eagerness with which our students shared how they've been actively applying the PBIS matrix in their daily lives, both inside and outside of the classroom.
It's moments like these that truly exemplify the spirit of PBIS and the positive impact it has on our school community. We're incredibly proud of our students' dedication to upholding our PBIS principles and grateful to our staff for their unwavering commitment to fostering a supportive and respectful learning environment.
Together, we're making a difference one positive behavior at a time. 🌟🏫🌟

Tips for Staying Fit with a Busy Schedule 🕞
Many people want to form new habits that will make them healthier and bring peace. However, that can feel daunting and intimidating. If you’re looking for small ways to make a big impact on your daily health and wellness, this list can help! It’s 30 days’ worth of small changes that, if implemented regularly, can lead you to a happier, healthier, longer life. These small changes don’t require a lot of money, time, or skill. After you implement one, you’ll want to do more because the results are often very significant.
✅ Try a green smoothie – if you’re a regular smoothie drinker, throw in a handful of leafy greens to ramp up the nutrition value of your smoothie. Try this great recipe
✅ Stop and breathe – a quick session of deep breathing can help you feel more relaxed and less stressed. It only takes a moment but can relax your body for hours.
✅ Eat out less – when you cook at home, you know what’s in your food. Processed restaurant food has added sodium and fats and more calories. Even if it’s a simple salad, home cooking is best.
✅ See your physician for a yearly checkup – your physician can keep an eye on what’s going on with your body year after year. Find a doctor and schedule your checkup today.
✅ Try a new healthy food – if you’ve been looking for an excuse to try that kumquat or asparagus, do it! You never know when you’ll find a new favorite healthy snack.

Algebra Concepts and Connections Assessments
During spring 2024, students enrolled in Algebra: Concepts and Connections must take two different assessments in May.
For the 2023-24 SY, new math standards were implemented statewide; this required all new Milestones assessments to be developed. When a new assessment is developed and after it is administered, the state will undergo the process to ensure that the test is neither too easy nor too hard but is just right for the students. The Georgia Department of Education will work through the process during the summer of 2024 and will not provide scores to schools prior to the end of the school year.
- Milestones Algebra End of Course: The End of Course Milestones is required for federal accountability. The student score is used for the state accountability (CCRPI) score for the high school the first year that the student enters high school. Typically, the EOC score is 10% of the student’s final course grade per State Board of Education rule; since scores will not arrive until Fall 2024, we will administer the 2nd Semester Final for Algebra: Concepts and Connections.
- 2nd Semester Final Algebra: Concepts and Connections: For May 2024 only since we won’t have EOC scores to measure student’s learning of the AKS, we will give the 2nd Semester Final for Algebra Concepts and Connections. This will go in the gradebook in the EOC category.
Please share this message with the parents of your students enrolled in Algebra: Concepts & Connections when you feel it is appropriate.

FAFSA Information
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is the gateway to getting federal student loans, scholarships, grants, and work-study for school, but there can be so much confusion around it.
The FAFSA® used to be a super long application that took a lot of time and effort—that’s now a thing of the past. The FAFSA® for the 2024-2025 academic year is the new and improved version. Check out the link below to see all the changes!
Tips on how to avoid these common FAFSA® mistakes
Every year, families postpone filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Some skip it entirely because they think it’s a waste of time, the application is too long, or it's only a fast track to federal student loans. However, the FAFSA® package can also include college scholarships, work-study, and grants. Not filling it out—the most costly FAFSA® mistake—can result in losing money that could have helped you pay for college. Don’t be that student, and make sure you avoid these common FAFSA® mistakes by checking out the article link below!
