Quote of the Week
“One of the greatest things you have in life is that no one has the authority to tell you what you want to be. You’re the one who’ll decide what you want to be. Respect yourself and respect the integrity of others as well. The greatest thing you have is your self-image, a positive opinion of yourself. You must never let anyone take it from you.”
– Jaime Escalante

Important Notice - The One Chip Challenge
One Chip Challenge is NOT Allowed on any DSUSD Campus
A dangerous student challenge is sweeping the nation. It is called the “One Chip Challenge” and is being shared by Tik Tok and other social media sites. The challenge was issued by a snack company named Paqui. Students are being challenged to eat what is claimed to be "a high voltage chip that contains the super-charged Carolina Reaper Pepper and Stinging Scorpion Pepper with a shocking twist...it will turn your tongue blue. The purpose of this challenge is to see how many chips an individual can eat without having any ill effects. Several students at our school and other DSUSD schools have attempted this challenge with resulting health issues.
Consumption of these extreme chips can cause serious digestive and respiratory distress.
Please discuss this challenge with your children and urge them to not participate or encourage others to do so. Students will receive school consequences if found in possession of these chips or participating in the challenge.
