Lead Like a Jaguar
At DuJardin, we want students to become leaders who model a positive attitude (growth mindset), set and achieve positive goals, understand and manage emotions, show empathy for others, and make responsible decisions (solve problems). Teachers will be using the Second Step curriculum & other resources to help ensure our students #LeadLikeJaguars.
Focus for January 9 - March 7th: Empathy & Kindness: Students learn how to recognize kindness and act kindly toward others, how to develop empathy for others and take others’ perspectives, and how to act with empathy.
Click here to view our #LeadLikeAJaguar focus for this week. This is an OPTIONAL lesson.

Monthly Above & Beyond Recipients for DuJardin
Each month the Bloomingdale Board of Education recognizes students from DuJardin, Erickson, & Westfield for going Above & Beyond. Below are the Above & Beyond recipients from DuJardin for the month of October & November.
November Above & Beyond Recipient
Madison is a kind and considerate student. She is always the first person to offer help, and frequently checks-in on others to make sure they are having a good day. Madison inquires about people and really listens and cares about their responses. Madison has a BIG heart, and wants to see others succeed. When Madison was in kindergarten during Covid, she made posters to thank all the frontline workers. Madison went with her mom to deliver the posters. WOW!!! Madison is a hard worker and faces all challenges with a positive attitude. She Leads Like A Jaguar!!!!
October Above & Beyond Recipient
Shane exemplifies what it means to me to be an accountable, responsible, and kind student. He consistently pushes himself to achieve and is a friend to all. He sets the standard for student behavior and leads through example. Shain is always a good model for his classmates. He participates in class discussions and works hard. He models the pillars at all times. Shain is always up for a new challenge and continues to persevere until the challenge is met. He always pushes himself to reach the next goal and be his best self. Shain is a great friend and role model for his classmates. He Leads like a Jaguar!!!!
December Above & Beyond Recipient
Sahen is an exemplary student at DuJardin. He has an infectious motivation for learning! Our classroom culture is brightened by his enthusiasm for learning and his genuine smile. Every day he models responsible behavior by completing work to the best of his ability and always following our procedures and routines. In addition to answering questions, he stretches his mind to think beyond just what is in front of him, and that motivates others to think outside the box as well. Sahen is a kind student who is often the first to help someone out, and the last to ask for recognition. He is a great friend and a respectful student. Sahen models our class slogan of Excellence: better than good! Sahen always goes Above & Beyond & Leads like a Jaguar!
