We look forward to seeing all of our Falcons back on Monday, January 6! It will be a busy month as we have our first round of exams and end the 1st Semester. Please see important dates below and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.

We will hold our first round of Final Exams on Wednesday, January 15 - Friday, January 17. Please see the tentative exam schedule below. There may be minor adjustments to the time schedule but this is so you can see which exams will be held on each day and that piece of the schedule will not change.

Winter Exam Schedule

We will be celebrating all of our 1st Semester Achievements on Friday, January 31, 2025 in the Auditorium. More details to come regarding this but parents are welcome to attend this assembly which will be held during the last hour of the school day. We will send a separate email regarding this closer to the assembly.

Starting on Monday, January 27, the Youth Protection Council will be coming into our 8th grade health sections for 4 weeks and then go into the 7th grade health sections for the next four Mondays immediately following to take them through the 'Catch My Breath' Vaping Prevention Course. Here is the schedule of dates:

8th grade

Session 1: January 27th

Session 2: February 3rd

Session 3: February 10th

Session 4: February 24th

7th grade

Session 1: March 3rd

Session 2: March 10th

Session 3: March 17th

Session 4: March 31st (after spring break)

Parents can now observe their students in Canvas after completing a few steps. Here is some information regarding this process.

A pairing code is needed for any parent/caregiver to create an Observer Account for their child. You can have your child generate a code for you utilizing the directions below. To log into Canvas please follow the directions outlined in the links below.

We have our second round of Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, February 20 from 4:30 pm to 7 pm. More details to come regarding this in our February Newsletter.

• Please follow Freeland Community School District on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter) for information and fun posts about our students and staff throughout the year. If you are not a social media fan, the same information will be found on our website in the live feed.

• Use Skyward for keeping track of your student’s grades, attendance, etc.

It is the goal to return all phone calls and emails within 24 hours during the school week. Emails and phone calls received over the weekend will receive a response as soon as possible on Monday.
