CCC Update December 2024

CCC Update December 2024
CCC UpdateDecember 2024

During November, our CCC representatives came together to discuss three major topics: engagement, district assessments, and the future of grading and reporting.

To begin, each school came with tangible examples of what student engagement looks like at each school. This included movement in lessons, student choice, and active participation. During the recent Institute Day of professional learning, all staff were led through learning about belonging and engagement through cooperative learning structures. The feedback was overall very positive, and the majority of staff are interested in learning more about cooperative learning to impact student learning positively!

Next, we discussed the future of district screening assessments such as NWEA Map and Fastbridge. Essentially, we are looking to gather feedback to better understand the usability of the data gathered from the assessments and the desired frequency of each one. A Google form will be shared with CCC representatives to gain feedback from each school in District 67, which will help inform decisions about the assessment calendar for the 25-26 school year.

Lastly, we revisited the work of Evidence-Based Reporting that was started by a committee of teachers and administrators back in 2021. Given the portrait work, strategic plan, and multiple curriculum reviews/adoptions, this work was put on hold. At this time, we are gathering information about our current reality with grading and reporting procedures and questions we have that will lead to the next steps.
