FAC Weekly Update
March 28, 2024
Good Afternoon, FAC Family
And...we're back! We hope everyone had a fantastic Spring Break and a smooth return to work/school. The 4th Quarter of the school year has begun, and with it comes a calendar full of performances, events, and celebrations of our students. We look forward to seeing large, supportive audiences and encourage our students to attend as many FAC events as possible.
A few highlights from our first week back from break...
- Congrats to the FAC Creative Writing Studio on an outstanding event at M. Judson Booksellers this past Monday! It was a wonderful community showcase for our talented writers.
- We were fortunate to have SANDBOX PERCUSSION as Artists-in-Residence this week. On Tuesday evening, they performed a concert at Furman University that was nothing short of extraordinary. Thank you to the Peace Center for funding their visit!
- The AM Jazz Studio takes the stage of the Sutherlin Recital Hall for their Spring Concert tonight at 7:00 p.m. Don't miss it!
Here is the latest from the halls of the Fine Arts Center...
This Week's Student Leadership Lesson
From "Extreme Ownership" - by Jocko Willink
“Leaders should never be satisfied. They must always strive to improve, and they must build that mind-set into the team. They must face the facts through a realistic, brutally honest assessment of themselves and their team’s performance.
Identifying weaknesses, good leaders seek to strengthen them and come up with a plan to overcome challenges. The best teams anywhere are constantly looking to improve, add capability, and push the standards higher.
It starts with the individual and spreads to each of the team members until this becomes the culture, the new standard."
