This week Preschool students took part in some pumpkin investigations by using all 5 senses. Learning through sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch helps engage young learners.

In Mrs. Butler's absence, Mr. Yearwood took some time to teach a math lesson in the 4th grade class. True to his style, the lesson included time to get up and move around! Students learned about radius, diameter, and degrees of angles. The fan favorite was the 360° dunk. 🏀

On Tuesday night students and parents came out to hear about this year's Feed the Need Project. Mrs. Candase and Pastor Ory talked to the group about how the project works, the timeline, incentives, and the area in Bangladesh where meals will be sent. Several door prizes were given, including car-line fast passes, dress down passes, and a 50% fee discount.

Congratulations to Mrs. Riffe’s Kindergarten class on being the first class with 100% registration participation for FEED THE NEED!

Students in Preschool through 1st grade celebrated the 50th day of school by dressing up in styles from the 1950s.

The weather has been so nice this week! Students always enjoy getting outside when they can. Looks like this week the outdoor activities even included a little arm wrestling match. 🤣

On Thursday we had a surprise visitor on campus. Mrs. Driver had a little time to swing by and catch up. While she was on campus she got to see all the painted pumpkins and some of the students.

Students in Mrs. Haynes' class learned some basic sewing with Mrs. Juanita Tidwell (Zoe, Lily Kate, & Haddie Jane's Grandmother). Sometimes the simplest lessons are the most useful and meaningful!

Classes are working on plans for special performances at our Veterans Day Program that will be held on Friday, November 8th. This group of 4th-6th grade students met with Mrs. Candase to prep their song selection.

Preschool through 2nd grade students (and their families) showed some major creativity with this week's display of pumpkins! There were all sorts of wonderful creations and fantastic literature tie-ins as they made pumpkins look like their favorite book characters.

Feed The Need is an event which allows Cullman Christian families to make a true difference in the world. The concept behind Feed The Need is essentially bringing an overseas “mission trip” experience onto our school campus.

Feed The Need has captured the hearts of participants, media and donors beyond any event in our history. In a Feed The Need event, CCS students will pack 10,000 meals in an indoor Packing Party for hungry children and orphans. Of the 10,000 meals we pack, 1,500 remain for local distribution in Cullman and 8,500 are distributed overseas directly to orphans and children facing extreme hunger in third-world countries.

The event gives CCS participants the opportunity to make a hands-on difference in the world while learning direct character lessons of selflessness, serving others, generosity and gratitude.

I am looking forward to seeing what God is going to do this year as we work toward our goal. We would like to have every family signed up before next week. If we get every family signed up, the school will receive additional benefits from the fundraiser! We have many incentives planned over the next few weeks to help your students get excited. You will find a flyer attached to this email with all the details. If you haven’t already, take time to look through the Kickoff Slideshow to help answer your questions. The Alabama Christian Education Association (ACEA) has announced that the 2024-2025 State Academic Testing will begin November 18 through December 18. All tests will be taken online at our school. Students in grades 3-12 are eligible to participate.

Please refer to the letter that was sent home for additional details. The deadline to sign up is October 28th.

This year's Veterans Day Program will be held on Friday, November 8th.

The program will take place at Desperation Church in their main auditorium. Parents will be receiving more detailed information soon about morning drop offs and pick up procedures.

**We will have the picture slide show of veterans again this year. Any additional pictures not sent in last year can be emailed to Mrs. Yearwood.**

Special thank you to the Cullman AMC Classic Marketplatz 10 for donating some amazing theater popcorn for the Feed the Need Kick Off! It was delicious!

Mark your calendar to cheer on the Lions this basketball season! Students get in free to home games. All 7th-12th grade basketball players should have a copy of this season's basketball schedule.
