This week our beloved pastor, Father Joe Rankin announced his retirement effective in June 2020. Father Joe was ordained to the priesthood in 1979 (celebrating his 41st anniversary this year). He grew up in Louisville, attending Xavier University in Ohio and completed his theological training in Rome. After his ordination he was a pastor in Ecuador and Canada before returning to Louisville in 1990. He has been the associate pastor at St. Athanasius, pastor at St. Monica and then St. Francis of Assisi. He has spent 15 years here at St. Rita leading our families in faith formation and spiritual guidance. Do not worry too much—while he will be missed as our pastor, he will still be very visible to our community. It is still being determined where he will live (either at St. Luke or St. Rita). More information will come on his replacement. Please keep him in your prayers as he begins a new phase of his life.

Our kindergarten basketball team won 2nd Place in their tournament. Great job!

As the school is closed for the next three weeks, we are rescheduling the Father Daughter Dance. More information to come.

The RACER Lab at the University of Louisville is currently recruiting Children with ADHD ages 7-14 to participate in research studies of children’s emotions. Children may participate if they have ADD/ADHD, or if they might have ADD/ADHD. We are also recruiting Children ages 7-11 without ADHD to participate in these studies.

Esta semana nuestro querido Pastor, Padre Joe Rankin anuncio su retiro efective en Junio 2020. El Padre Joe fue ordenado al sacerdocio en 1979 (celebrando sus 41 aniversario este año).Él crecio en Louisville, asistio a la Universidad Xavier de Ohio y completo su entrenamiento teologico en Roma. Despues de su ordenación él fue pastor en Ecuador y Canada antes de retornar a Louisville en 1990. Él ha sido Pastor asociado en St. Athanasius, pastor en St. Monica y despues St. Francis de Assisi. Él ha pasado 15 años aqui en St. Rita liderando nuestras familias en la formación de Fé y guia espiritual. El laboratorio RACER en la Universidad de Louisville esta actualmente reclutando niños con ADHD en edades 7-14 para participar en estudio de investigación de las emociones de niños. Los niños que tienen ADD/ADHD puede participar. Tambien estan reclutando niños de edades 7-11 que no tengan ADHD para participar en este estudio.

Cualquier persona que trabaje con niños en la arquidiócesis (escuela, iglesia, deportes, etc.) debe contar con el Entrenamiento de Medio Ambiente Seguro proporcionado por la Arquidiócesis de Louisville.
