Opportunities for Students
Unaltered State Teen Video Contest
Raise your voice about the dangers of youth substance use and win big cash prizes!
Youth substance use has been on the rise in Idaho. The drug landscape is more dangerous and deadly than ever. Between alcohol, vaping, marijuana, and counterfeit prescriptions, experts theorize that teens are using substances to cope with stress, feeling of belonging, and mental health challenges.
If you're from Idaho and are 12-18 years old, enter the Unaltered State teen video contest to inspire your peers to not use substances in the first place.
Just create and upload your 90-second vape-bashing masterpiece, and you could win a portion of the more than $10,000 in prize money being awarded.
ISBA's America's Field Trip Essay Contest
Idaho students in grades 3–12 are invited to share their perspectives on what America means to them by participating in the America’s Field Trip essay and artwork contest. This contest is part of the national America250 initiative, which commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with programs that aim to reflect on the nation's past, honor the contributions of all Americans, and inspire future generations. Students are divided into three divisions: elementary (grades 3–5), middle school (grades 6–8), and high school (grades 9–12). They may submit physical or digital artwork or a 500-word essay.
Twenty-five first-place winners from each grade level will receive a chaperoned, three-day field trip to a national cultural or historical landmark, including exclusive experiences at iconic sites like the Smithsonian and Independence National Historical Park.
