ABLAZE

September is upon us and school is in full swing! Fall is one of my favorite times of the year because the temperature gets a little cooler and everyone is bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the new year. And with a new year comes new joys, new excitements, and perhaps new trials. However, through the trials, we can lean on one who specializes in the new.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead..." (1 Peter 1:3)

Let's embrace the new and look forward to what's ahead because God makes us new every morning.

Connection Hour is still in full swing! We meet on Sundays in the Youth Room from 9:30-10:30 am and are talking about the book of Revelation.

What the morning looks like:

9:15-9:30 Youth arrive and they can eat snacks

9:30-9:35 Announcements

9:35-9:50 Jr. high go down to the gym to do a game and Sr. high do highs and lows

9:50-10:00 Jr. high and sr. high get settled into the youth room for the lesson

10:00-10:15 Jr. high goes downstairs to discuss while Sr. high stay in the youth room to discuss.

This change has been different and somewhat difficult but is better for flow of the hour, deeper lesson time, and more meaningful conversations and relationships with youth and volunteers.

On September 22nd, I will be at an 8th grade Confirmation Retreat, so all youth will help with children's ministry that day.

When? Sunday, September 8th at 12:30 pm

Where? Gym

If you are new to youth ministry or have been here for awhile, come join us at our parent meeting this Sunday. We will discuss what youth ministry means and what it looks like looking forward and how parents can help and be supported. We'll also talk about what's coming up in terms of events, mission trips, and winter retreats. Questions will also be answered during this time!

ABLAZE Wednesday nights are going strong and we are going through a series on Trust.

August 28th: Trust in the Unknown

September 4th: Trust in the Changes

September 11th: Guest Speaker

September 18th: Trust in the Waiting

September 25th: Game Night

These nights are from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with food, fellowship, games, a message, and small group time. They are meant to provide youth education, fun, friends, and a deeper relationship with God.

Come to play board games, card games, or video games! You can come play the ones here in the youth room or bring your own! Potluck snacks are needed!

We have new ABLAZE shirts! Especially if you are planning on going to the National Youth Gathering, please order this shirt! Youth can wear them for the Winter Retreat and any other time as well!
