Grades 5 & 7 Scoliosis Screening
Current New Jersey legislation requires the biennial examination of every pupil between the ages of ten and eighteen for the condition known as scoliosis (lateral curvature of the spine). Students in Grades 5 and 7 in the Charles DeWolf Middle School will be scheduled for scoliosis screening in the spring of 2025. Scoliosis is most commonly found during the adolescent growth period and may progress if not treated. The purpose of this program is to recognize scoliosis at its earliest stages so that the need for treatment can be determined.
If your child has a current physical on file with a documented scoliosis screening done, he/she will be exempt.
If you would rather not have your child participate in the screening process, please fill out the form attached below by April 4th and return to Mrs. McCarthy.
