*CLUB UPDATES*
Club Spotlight of the Week - District Media Crew
Ever wonder how our special events and athletic games end up on LTPSRewind and LTPS-TV? You can be a part of the action by joining our talented and amazing District Media Crew! Our students do a fantastic job of capturing all of our special moments here at LHS. Under the direction of Tom Ervin, DMC members learn audio-visual repair, videotaping, editing, theater lighting, and sound system operations.
Students have the opportunity to WORK FOR PAY. Work the camera or announce programs for LTPS-TV, or operate lights or sound for events in the auditorium and cafeteria throughout the school year. Pick and choose the jobs you'd like to work! Interested? See Mr. Ervin in the District Technology Center (located below LHS Room 301) to get involved.

*WORDS TO LIVE BY*
*JUST FOR FUN*
There's a Word for That!
herbstlaubtrittvergnügen [hairbst-laup-trit-fairk-noo-gen]
German: This lovely (but very, very, very long) German word describes "the pleasure of kicking through autumn leaves" and is a combination of four words: herbst (autumn); laub (leaves); tritt (kick); and vergnügen (pleasure).
ukiyo [ooh-kee-yo]
Japanese: living in the moment, detached from the bothers of life; "floating world"
conker [con-ker]
British: a chestnut; also the name of a game played in Great Britain and Ireland
Fun Fact
In Finland, they have a "National Sleepyhead Day," when the last person in a family to get up in the morning is woken up by their family with water...either by having it poured on them or by being thrown in a pool or lake! This is done as a symbolic way of "washing off" their laziness.
