Week at a Glance
Did You Know?
Most students will have attended a funeral or known someone who has passed away. Burying/interring the dead is one of the corporal works of mercy, and is a central part of the faith community. Alongside the many charitable activities of feeding and sheltering the poor, visiting the sick and imprisoned, our parishes also celebrate thousands of funerals for the deceased. Other ways we can support this Coporal Work of Mercy are:
◻ Attend funerals & visitations
◻ Send cards and flowers to grieving family
◻ Donate to a cause that is special to the family
◻ Make food for the family
◻ Visit a gravesite to pray
◻ Go visit the family and comfort them
◻ Help clean out the home of the deceased
◻ Help pay bills related to the funeral

All students will be participating in both concerts. The afternoon concert will be a regular full performance and we would encourage you, if at all possible, to purchase your tickets for the afternoon performance, as there will undoubtedly be greater requests for the evening performance. BK students in grade kindergarten – 6 DO NOT require a ticket.
The afternoon concert will begin at 2:00 p.m. and the evening concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold for a nominal fee of $5.00/ticket, and this will cover incidental costs (lighting, costumes, rental of equipment etc.) Order your tickets through your “PowerSchool Parent Portal” select “School Fees and Forms” and tickets will be sent home with your child.
Unfortunately, fire regulations state that we may only seat 400 in our gym at any given time, so please try to purchase your tickets early to avoid disappointment. Limit of 10 tickets per student for the 2:00 pm performance and 2 tickets per student for the 7:00 pm performance at this time. First round of tickets available until December 4th, then we will send out an email to let you know if more tickets are available. This is on a first come first serve basis.
ADVENT
Next week we will light the first purple candle - the Candle of Hope which is sometimes called the "Prophecy Candle" in remembrance of the prophets who foretold the birth of Christ. As we move through the season of Advent, we prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus. It reflects the "hope" we feel as we anticpate the coming of Jesus. Next week we will light the Candle of Peace, also known as the Bethlehem candle.
The Wonder of The Greatest Gift
We will follow along with the Old Testament, hearing stories and creating ornaments for our classroom and school Jesse Trees. We focus on the WHOLE GREATEST STORY, from Creation to His Coming, & how His love has always, always, always been coming for you! Let us take time in this beautiful season to prepare our hearts for Christ, who seeks to be with us always; past, present, and future.
