The Year of Celebrations
Week of April 1st
Sure, it's April Fool's Day. And sure, we could play a joke here. But, we bet you're expecting that... No joke, here's the news for the week!
As mentioned in the previous edition, we are hoping that parents/guardians who haven't served on the SPO Board to reach out and volunteer for next year. Without a solid Board, many of the wonderful activities our kids enjoy may not happen. Speaking of which, we are excited to begin this year's Booster activities on Tuesday this week! The Fun Run, the culmination of a week's long fundraising effort, will be on Thursday the next week, amidst a whole bunch of important events.
This week has its own share of big events from Paraprofessional's Day on Wednesday to a theater performance for 1st and 2nd grade on Thursday to our final Electives Day on Friday. Along the way, third graders will be practicing for next week's ELA MCAS, and all classes will be talking about the science behind (or in front of) the eclipse on Monday.
Have a great week everyone!

Important Info
The 4ST Challenge!
On Thursday, at 9:30am, for 10 minutes, every student at JCS dropped everything and got as many ST Math puzzles done as possible. The record they were trying to beat, 2473 puzzles, was literally shattered by JCS who completed 9,703 puzzles in that 10 minutes. That is an average of 18 puzzles per person, more than triple what we expected! We celebrated at lunch on Thursday with a dance party along with our honored guest, Jiji the Penguin!
