SENIOR APPLICATION NIGHT
ASVAB
In order for Seniors to graduate they must meet the Douglas County Graduation Requirements. There are a few different ways to meet these requirements, one of them being the ASVAB exam.
Legend will be offering the ASVAB exam on September 20th at 8:30am in the commons. This is for seniors only. Please arrive by 8:15 am; you do not need to sign up.
Participation in the ASVAB is voluntary. If your student participates they are not obligated to the military in any way.
This exam will be given again in February and will be open to Sophomore, Junior and Seniors. ASVAB measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success.

I am booking more visits every day! Add colleges that you are thinking about to your “Colleges I’m Thinking About” tab in Naviance. Then you will receive email notifications when those colleges are visiting. If you would like to attend a visit, you will need to sign up in Naviance under the “Colleges Home” tab and you will see the college visits on the lower righthand portion of the page. Most visits are held in the Post Grad Room. Attendance is taken at the visits and you will be excused from the class time while you are at the college visit.

SAT
Information From College Board
Students, we’ve heard that many of you want the option to submit your SAT test scores to colleges and universities, including those that are test optional. If you took the SAT as a junior, we recommend that you take it again in the fall to improve your score before college applications are due.
Please click here for test and registration dates.
JUNIOR INFORMATION
Post Grad Student Planning Timeline for the Fall Semester
- Maintain your grades during your junior year is especially important. College Admissions Counselors look for an upward trend in grades throughout the high school years.
- Be aware of the PSAT and SAT dates.
- Speak with your advisor during your junior meeting about your academic record and profiel; determine that gaps or weakness there are and get suggestions on how to strengthen your candidacy for the schools you are interested in applying.
- Determine what it takes to position yourself most favorable for admission to the college(s) of your choice, in addition to GPA and test scores.

Legend High School is excited to share the opportunity to Letter in Community Service beginning in the 2024-2025 school year. The process to letter in Community Service is similar to Athletics, except that it is a full year instead of a season.
Lettering in Community Service: Find the correct form for, first year, second year or third year for lettering requirements. Complete and submit the appropriate form with the body of evidence required to Mrs. Schwalick. Lettering packets are due for all students by March 23, 2025 at noon.
The Community Service lettering program at Legend will be limited to the current school year of service and is not retroactive to previous school years. Community service hours must be completed between May 27, 2024 and March 23, 2025 to qualify for lettering this year.
You must be a current, full-time student to letter
Lettering hours will count towards the graduation required community service of 20 hours.

CU Denver
I want to inform you about two amazing pathway programs at CU Denver; the CU Denver BA/BS-MD and BA/BS-DDS Programs. These are cooperative programs between the University of Colorado Denver College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine.
The recruitment cycle for the 2025 academic year has begun! Below are the web pages for each program:
If you know of individuals who are interested in applying to either program, please encourage them to visit the program websites, contact me directly, and encourage potential applicants to attend one of our information sessions. There are three program information sessions scheduled for the BA/BS-MD Program: Saturday, September 14th, Thursday, September 26th, and Saturday, October 12th. There is one program information session scheduled for the BA/BS-DDS Program: Saturday, October 12th. All sessions will be held via the Zoom Webinar Platform. Attendees are required to RSVP and can do so by visiting each Program’s respective website at:
Next, to apply to either Program, students must complete two applications: the CU Denver Undergraduate Admission Application, and the Supplemental Application (the program application). The CU Denver Undergraduate Admission application and the supplemental applications for the fall 2025 academic year are accessible at this time. Students must complete a simple application request form to receive the supplemental application via Qualtrics.
Finally, the supplemental application deadline for both programs is at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2024. No exceptions to the deadline can be made.
I am available to answer questions for you and for your students. Feel free to contact me.
Please feel free to pass this information along to anyone who may be interested. Thank you for your continued support!
