FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Patriot families,
We are quickly approaching the end of another school year. I find it hard to believe how fast it has passed. It seems with each passing year the expectations of our students increase dramatically. I truly believe our students and staff have worked hard this year. Because of this, I am assured our students will meet (or exceed) our school improvement goals.
The week of May 5th is Staff Appreciation Week! It is a time to thank our teachers, staff, paraprofessionals, custodial, secretaries, specialists, and all others who dedicate their time to educating and supporting children each day. The Patriot School Family is a dedicated team, focused on helping students achieve and building strong relationships. Thank you to the PTO, FGCU and Sunshine Committee for joining the Administrative Team in putting together a week full of treats to celebrate the staff!
As we approach summer, we hope your families are able to take a true break, rest, restore, and safely connect with your loved ones.

MENSAJE DE LA DIRECTORA
Queridas familias de Patriot,
Nos acercamos rápidamente al final de otro año escolar. Me cuesta creer lo rápido que ha pasado. Parece que cada año que pasa las expectativas de nuestros estudiantes aumentan dramáticamente. Realmente creo que nuestros estudiantes y personal han trabajado muy duro este año. Debido a eso, estoy segura de que nuestros estudiantes alcanzarán (o superarán) nuestras metas de mejoramiento académico.
¡La semana del 5 de mayo es la Semana de Agradecimiento a los Maestros y Personal! Es un momento para agradecer a nuestro personal, maestros, paraprofesionales, conserjes, secretarias, especialistas y todos los demás que dedican su tiempo a educar y apoyar a los niños todos los días. La familia de personal de Patriot School es un equipo dedicado, enfocado en ayudar a los estudiantes a lograr sus metas y construir relaciones sólidas. ¡Gracias al PTO, FGCU y al Comité Sunshine por unirse al equipo administrativo para organizar una semana llena de delicias para celebrar al personal!
A medida que nos acercamos al verano, esperamos que sus familias puedan tomar un buen descanso, recuperarse y conectarse de manera segura con sus seres queridos.

TESTING TIPS FOR PARENTS / Sugerencias para los padres
- Make sure your child gets plenty of rest the night before the test.
Asegúrese de que su hijo descanse lo suficiente la noche anterior al examen.
- On the morning of the test, your child needs to get up in plenty of time, so he/she won't feel rushed.
La mañana del examen, su hijo(a) debe levantarse con tiempo suficiente para no sentirse apurado.
- Feed your child a good breakfast. Research shows that children do better on tests if they have had a good breakfast (Breakfast is FREE at Patriot Elementary)
Alimente a su hijo(a) con un buen desayuno. Las investigaciones muestran que los niños obtienen mejores resultados en los exámenes si han tomado un buen desayuno (el desayuno es GRATIS en Patriot Elementary).
- Make sure your child is on time for school each day; your child needs to be in the classroom by 8:55 a.m. every day.
