Welcome Back!

I am so excited to see my Falcon family for the 2020-2021 school year! Summer came (barely) and went (quickly) but we all made it through and are here to see better days.


This newsletter will keep you updated on resources, community events, and more. I look forward to serving as your School Social Worker this year and know that we are all in this together!

My role as your SSW is to provide services to students and families to address barriers to student success.


The SSW:

  • Enforces the Ga Compulsory attendance law
  • Provides individual counseling to students (virtual)
  • Facilitates groups (virtual)
  • Provides resources to families (basic/economic needs)
  • Community outreach
  • Address issues such as abuse (mandated reporting), academic concerns, discipline, family needs, and more

Mandated Reporting

Keep in mind that we are ALL mandated reporters! Unfortunately, many of our students are in less than ideal home situations and virtual learning has created even more stressful environments.


Please follow the DFCS protocol when reporting suspected abuse or neglect. Check out the helpful info sheet below about reporting abuse and warning signs.

You will find resources here on how to keep your "chill" intact! Self-care is a must so please use these items when you need a boost!
