Helpful tips, tricks, and dates from the Counseling Office!
Dear Students
October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. Later this month, a video will be available for all students to watch. If you submitted a question, they were all answered by our panel so be sure to watch! Also, be on the look out for prizes- students who watch the panel will be entered into a gift card drawing if they do the follow up poll!
Below you will see grade level updates, some self care tips, and helpful reminders so be sure to keep scrolling!

Mr Sharp's Monthly Top Mental Health Pick:
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson (available in print, ebook, audiobook and graphic novel format).
Parental/Student Warning: This title is required reading in some schools and banned in others. It contains underage drinking that leads to sexual assault at a party and in this Librarian's opinion does an expert job of highlighting issues of PTSD and the need for professional school counselors like the ones offered at CHS. This choice will not be appropriate for every student, but will be a powerful resource for those that need it most and can lead to some very important discussions on consent. For those worried about the content, the graphic novel version is significantly less controversial and is generally rated as appropriate for "7th grade and above".
