Winter Showcase Grades Kindergarten-3rd- Friday, December 20th
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we approach our upcoming winter concert, we would like to remind you of a few important details for the day of the event, Friday, 12/20:
Early Sign-Out: If you plan to sign out your child early on concert day, please complete the Early Release Form at the bottom of this email. The form must be submitted by 12:00 PM on Wednesday, December 18th. If we do not receive the form by this deadline, you will need to pick up your child at the regular half-day dismissal time (11:30 am). We will not be able to accommodate early releases from the main office on the day of the concert, as this would interfere with transitions between our two winter shows and delay car line.
Concert Attire: Students in grades K-3 should come to school dressed in their holiday best attire for the concert. This will ensure they are ready for the performance.
Half-Day Guidelines: On the half-day, students should not bring their backpacks. If your child is being signed out early, please send them with a paper bag lunch, as they will not have the opportunity to go to their classroom for their belongings. K-3 Winter Showcase Early Release
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us make the day as smooth and enjoyable as possible for everyone. Thank you for your attention to these important details.

Wrapping Up Quarter 2
The end of Q2 is quickly approaching for students. Grades are due to administration before students go on break. Therefore, it is extremely important that parents are sitting with their students and checking PowerSchool for missing and late assignments that could be negatively impacting student grades. Teachers are communicating low grades and missing work with parents, please be sure to check your emails from teachers carefully.
Middle school parents: We are taking a close look at students’ progress to ensure that we are intervening early enough to help any students at risk for failing one or more classes. Students fail when they have not earned the required quality points for the semester (combined Q1 and Q2 points). How do students earn quality points (QP)? Based on their grades they must earn a minimum of 4 QP for the year (2 each semester). A=4 QPs, B=3 QPs, C=2 QPs, D=1 QP, and F=0 QPs. We have pulled students who are not on track to earn the required 2 QPs in semester 1 which means they will not pass the classes. We discussed what they can do to get the points they need and what the consequences will be if they do not. Course recovery, which is re-doing any classes failed in Q1 and Q2, will take place after the break. This will add an additional academic course to your child’s schedule and should be avoided by maintaining a passing grade for Semester 1 classes. Any students in danger of failing 3 or more classes will have a call home to set up a meeting with parents, students, and administration because those students are at risk of retention. By working together we will be doing all we can to support our students in academic achievement.
Important Reminder: Morning Drop-Off & Safety
Thank you to those families who are dropping off their child(ren) prior to 7:20 am for our Elementary students. This helps ensure your child(ren) make it to class by 7:30 am.
We’ve noticed an increase in parents using their cell phones during drop-off and pick-up. Our number one priority is safety, and we kindly ask all families to follow our policies to ensure the safety of students, staff, and parents. Thank you for your cooperation!
Tardies, and Early Dismissals Per the Palm Beach County Code of Conduct
Student Code of Conduct 24-25 per the district pertaining to Tardies, and Early Dismissals.
Late Arrival and Early Dismissal: The Board recognizes that from time-to-time compelling circumstances require that a student be late to school or dismissed before the end of the school day. Parents or guardians must follow the same process to obtain an excuse for tardiness or to obtain permission for early dismissal, as they do to obtain an excuse for an absence. A pattern of non-attendance for instructional activities is established by tardiness, early sign-outs, or absences for all or any part of the day. i.Late Arrivals or Tardiness. Students reporting late to school/class when the day/class period begins are considered tardy. Excessive tardiness shall be addressed on a case-by- case basis to determine if there is a pattern of non-attendance. Unless excused under the provisions of this policy, accumulated tardiness will be recorded as unexcused absences consistent with Fla. Stat. § 1003.02(1) (b) and this policy. When a secondary student misses fifty (50) percent or more of the identified instructional class period due to late arrival or tardiness, the student shall be considered absent.
Early Dismissal: Excessive early sign-outs will be addressed on a case-by-case basis to determine if there is a pattern of non-attendance. Unless excused under the provisions of this policy, accumulated early dismissals will be recorded as unexcused absences consistent with Fla. Stat. § 1003.02(1)(b) and this policy. When a secondary student misses fifty (50) percent or more of the identified instructional class period due to early dismissal, the student shall be considered absent.
Our Campus Leaderboards
Please support us in encouraging your child(ren) to work on IXL in grades 3-8. Have them log in and access their NWEA Study Plan, where they will find specific areas to focus on. It is imperative that students spend time working on these targeted areas to help reinforce and strengthen their skills.
Your cooperation in this effort is greatly appreciated, and we believe it will make a significant difference in your child's academic progress. Thank you for your continued support.
Please fill out the form by clicking the tab above to share a shout-out for a Franklin Staff Member! Your feedback is crucial in helping us recognize the hard work and dedication of our staff. By sharing your positive experiences, you not only motivate our team but also contribute to creating a more positive and nurturing learning environment for all our students.
