Dear Parents and Caregivers,
I hope you’ve all had a great week! We have some exciting events coming up at DMIS, so here are the key things to know:
Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week kicks off on Wednesday, October 23rd! This is a great opportunity for families to talk to our students about making healthy choices and showing support for a drug-free America. On Wednesday, let’s get “reddy” to say no to drugs by wearing red to school! Check out the image below for the dress-up themes for the rest of the week.
PTO Candy Sales
Our PTO will be hosting their annual candy sale fundraiser from October 28th-31st. Candy will be sold directly after lunch, and each item will cost $2 (cash only). This is a fun way to support our PTO, so send your child with a few dollars if they’d like to participate!
5 Star Celebration
We’re looking forward to our next 5 Star Celebration on Friday, October 25th, from 5-7 pm. Students can enjoy dancing, games, a movie, and a spooky sensory adventure! Costumes are encouraged, and there will be candy, chips, and pizza for sale. Admission is $2, and students must be in good school standing (no in-school, bus, or out-of-school suspensions) to attend. Pick-up begins at 6:50 pm, and please note that students picked up later than 7:15 pm will not be able to attend the next celebration.
Afternoon Car Rider Line
Just a reminder that car rider pick-up must take place in the car loop to ensure student safety. Students should not be picked up in the parking lots. Please fill the entire loop and pull all the way up to the car in front of you. We’ve been experiencing some delays because students are not leaving the building promptly. If your child is a car rider, please remind them to head directly out of the building when called at 3:10 pm to keep the process efficient.
International Night
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our International Night on November 6th, from 5:30-7:00 pm! This year, it’s a campus-wide event, and we’re excited to celebrate many cultures with music, games, crafts, and food. If you would like to help out, please follow the QR code below.
