SCS LEARNING FRAMEWORK (NOVEMBER 9 - 24)
At the Strongsville Board of Education meeting last night, the majority of the Board voted to continue to keep all PRESCHOOL/ELEMENTARY SCHOOL students in school 5 days a week from Monday, November 9th through Tuesday, November 24th, which coincides with our Thanksgiving Break. Students at the MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL will move to the Blended Learning framework during this same time period (November 9-24). SMS and SHS students will follow this Green/White calendar.
The decision for the learning framework covers the next two and a half weeks and no changes to the learning framework described above will occur prior to Thanksgiving Break. The Board of Education is scheduled to meet on November 19th to discuss and determine the learning framework for the week of November 30th.
SCS RESPONSIBLE RESTART COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE
Our District has created the SCS Responsible Restart Comprehensive Guide - one document in one location outlining our District’s policies and procedures. This document should be used as a guide, allowing you to quickly find answers to your questions. The guide can also be found at www.strongnet.org/restart.
As we have seen throughout the pandemic, factors can change on a daily basis and this Guide will remain adjustable and flexible to respond to state and local health guidelines.
MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. MALLORY LOGAN, SPEECH PATHOLOGIST AT CHAPMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Mrs. Mallory Logan is a Speech Pathologist at Chapman Elementary School. Mrs. Logan has been working in our District for two years. Her undergraduate degree is from Baldwin Wallace University and she also has earned a graduate degree from Cleveland State University.
“I love having the opportunity to teach and facilitate communication skills to my students at Chapman Elementary School; everyone deserves a voice or method to communicate. The students at Chapman continue to teach me to appreciate even the smallest of victories, to be compassionate, and to embrace one another's differences,” said Mrs. Logan.
“Some of the best components of my job include watching my students grow and having the ability to collaborate, problem-solve, and learn from my colleagues. I love working in a building and district where we strive to do what is best for children!”

SHS LADY MUSTANGS VARSITY SOCCER TEAM EARNS SPOT IN ‘ELITE 8’ FOR 4TH STRAIGHT YEAR
The Strongsville High School Varsity Girls Soccer Team earned a spot in the “Elite 8” of the OHSAA postseason tournament for the 4th straight year. The Lady Mustangs defeated Twinsburg 4-0 earlier this week. It was the team’s 14th shutout of the season. The Mustangs will battle Akron Archbishop Hoban tomorrow (Saturday, 11/7) at 6pm with a trip to the State Final Four on the line. The match will be live streamed HERE.

OPT IN FOR TEXT MESSAGES FROM SCS
With the abundance of emails that we all receive on a daily basis, and some being directed to spam or becoming buried in other folders in your email account, it sometimes leaves you without knowing an email was sent. One way to address this issue is to send a text that alerts an email has been sent. Although our texting option is not new for the district, families must opt in to receive our texts. SHS SOPHOMORE JULIA ISHAM QUALIFIES FOR CROSS COUNTRY STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MEET
Congratulations to current SHS sophomore Julia Isham, who qualified for tomorrow’s Girls Cross Country State Championship Meet. Julia finished in 3rd place at last weekend's Regional Championship with a time of 19:39 - only 9 seconds off the first place finisher. She was also recently named the Greater Cleveland Conference Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year. Good luck at the State Championship Meet Julia!

ANNUAL STRONGSVILLE ATHLETIC BOOSTERS CAR RAFFLE - WIN A 2020 CHEVY TRAX!
The Strongsville Athletic Boosters are selling raffle tickets to win a 2020 Chevy Trax donated by Serpentini Chevrolet of Strongsville. The vehicle is on display in front of the SCS bus lot on Pearl Road. Tickets may be purchased for $20 each and only 3,000 will be sold. PCs for People recycles business electronics and provides refurbished computers and low-cost internet to under-resourced households and communities. This program provides financial aid to families in Cuyahoga County with K-12 students by distributing 10,000 free computers and 5,000 hotspots through a partnership with participating Cuyahoga County and Cleveland Public Libraries. Great Lakes Science Center Learning Lab
Great Lakes Science Center’s new Learning Lab program supports working parents who need daytime childcare for their school-age children. The program provides a safe, supportive environment where children can do their schoolwork virtually. Many of the Science Center’s health and safety procedures for programming during the pandemic were developed for Camp Curiosity, which served more than 1,000 children this summer.
