Washington Comprehensive Assessment for Science (WCAS)
Washington Comprehensive Assessment for Science (WCAS) testing continues on May 1 in the Student Center at 7:30a.m.
Junior students who do not have a Science class or participate in Running start students will need to complete the Washington Comprehensive Assessment for Science (WCAS) on May 1, 2024. Check in begins at 7:25a.m. in the Student Center. Testing will run from 7:30 until 10:30a.m.
Please being your fully charged laptop, and photo ID. Your counselor will provide a ticket for the test.
AP Exam Information
Students who purchased an AP exam, please mark your calendars and report to the assigned location and posted times. The exams will be given on campus in A 307.

Senior Prom
Prom is just around the corner. Tickets for your Enchanted Garden prom go on sale Monday, May 6, 2024 at the bookkeeping office before school, after school or during your lunch.
Tickets are $40 with ASB and $45 without.
Guest passes are available through the bookkeeping office.
Senior Mother Tea
Senior Mother Tea is on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 1:30p.m. in the SHS Commons. Tickets are $20 w/ ASB and $25 without and can be purchased through the bookkeeping.

Robotics Club
The Robotics team went to Houston, Texas this past week to compete in the FIRST Robotics World Championships. There were 600 High School teams from 16 different countries and over 45 states playing on 8 different fields. The Sonic Squirrels competed against 75 teams and finished the qualification rounds with a record of 5 wins and 5 losses, they ranked 23rd and were selected to play in the playoff alliance, captained by Issaquah High School Robotics. They finished the double elimination playoffs in match 12, with a playoff record of 2 wins and 2 losses. The students and robot performed very well and did an excellent job representing the Snohomish School District. During the event, the founder of FIRST Robotics and Segway Inventor Dean Kamen came by the pits and met with our team and spent some time with them looking over the robot.
Panther Pals
The next Panther Pals event is coming up soon!
High school Panther Pals will travel to the elementary schools to have lunch with their littles.

Journalism Club
Journalism Club will be holding a meeting during Panther Period on Monday, April 29, 2024, in D306 to discuss changes to our website and hosting of our content. Club members (and guests!) are urged to attend, as your input is needed for this decision!
Badminton Club
SHS has a super cool new club- The Badminton Club! We envisioned a time to hone in on your badminton skills with some fun games and tournaments! We will meet every other Monday, the first club meeting date is April 29, 2024 during Panther Period, in the main gym. Everyone is welcome from very beginner to pro! All equipment is provided, if you have any questions, you can see Mrs. Barstad. Hope to see you there!
Chinese Club
Chinese club will meet on Thursday, May 2, from 2:20-3:20p.m. in room A203. We will do Chinese fan painting. Also, we will share Chinese milk tea with you. Members and guests are all welcome.
Theatre Club presents Mean Girls Jr.
- Adapted from Tina Fey's 2004 blockbuster film and the Broadway smash hit, the Mean Girls Jr. script is a coming-of-age story filled with laughter that is family and kid-friendly. Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. This naïve newbie navigates the wilds of the American high school and the social ranks by taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming Queen Bee Regina George.

US Military Academy, West Point In-person Information Session

WA STEM Signing Day
Seniors, the 2024 Washington STEM Signing Day application is open! STEM Signing Day celebrates high school seniors who choose to pursue STEM education at technical programs, two-year or four-year college and universities. STEM Signing Day is just like signing days for athletes, but it is a day that nominated honorees sign a letter of intent to pursue their STEM goals. All seniors who are pursuing a STEM credential are eligible. Apply today to participate in this ceremony this spring! Open until April 27, 2024.
Summer internships available to district high school students
The Snohomish School District Career and Technical Education (CTE) department, in partnership with local businesses, are offering four 2024 summer internships that are meant to give students an opportunity to apply the skills that they are learning in the classroom to a future career. The Snohomish summer internships are 60-hour internships that begin the week of July 8, with the idea that they can be done while also working at a regular summer job.
Students interested in the summer internships need to be 2023-2024 sophomores or juniors and at least 16-years-old. Students will need to provide their own transportation to the internship sites. The internship consists of students working a total of 60 hours during a five-week period during the summer, which will start during the week of July 8 (an exception is the internship with the Snohomish Farmers Market). College Application and Financial Aid Deadlines Updated
Seniors, Here is a list of updated new FAFSA/WASFA deadlines for Washington State Colleges. Please be aware of these new deadlines!
Extensive Senior Scholarship List
Careers That Work $1,000 Scholarship for Specific Tech Schools, Training Institutes and Academy’s
The Careers That Work $1,000 scholarship is now available for seniors who are attending certain technical schools, training institutes and academy’s to apply for. Check out the List of Participating Schools in WA/Oregon and List of Participating Schools in Idaho, that offer this scholarship. Contact your counselor or Mrs. Stapleton so they can fill out the quick application.
2024-25 FAFSA/WASFA Financial Aid Application
The FAFSA application is still available to apply for! If you are attending any type of education after high, you should consider filling out the FAFSA or the WASFA. To apply for financial aid from the government or from the colleges you are applying to, you need to fill out one of the two following applications. Either the 2024-25 FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or the WASFA, Washington Application for State Financial Aid. The WASFA is for students who are undocumented or who do not qualify for federal aid because of their immigration status.
- Colleges have a deadline to fill out the FAFSA or WASFA. Check the college website for their up-to-date deadline!
- You only fill out one of these applications…not both.
- Complete the FAFSA
- Complete the WASFA
- You will need a username and password to access the FAFSA (students and parents/guardians).
- If you need help getting started or have questions, please contact Mrs. Stapleton.
College Visits at SHS
Are you interested in learning more about local colleges and what they have to offer? Check out all of the great colleges that will be visiting SHS this year! These visits will take place in the College & Career Center, during Panther Period, at lunch or afterschool. A college visit at SHS is a great way to learn about colleges you might be interested in. By attending a college visit, you are not committed to the school!!! More colleges are being added daily to the College Visit calendar.

Updated app launched for district transportation/bus info
This spring, the Ride 360 app our district uses to provide our families with student transportation information will be migrated to a replacement app, My Ride K-12. parents/guardians, students, and others will need to download the new app to access updated transportation information for your child(ren).
The new app, My Ride K-12, is available to download now. Links to the new app are available below:
Usernames and passwords from Ride 360 will transition to My Ride K-12. Additionally, existing log-in information can be used to access a web version of My Ride K-12 at myridek12.tylerapp.com. Parents/guardians will need to use their student ID# and current grade level to add their student to the app. My Ride K-12 will continue to provide secure access to student bus schedule/routing information, which can include the bus stop, route, and bus number. This is accessible on mobile devices and is confidential and secure. All app users will need to download the new app before the Ride 360 app is retired on May 1, 2024.
