I want to give a warm welcome to our new and returning students and families! It was so great to see your smiling faces on the first day of school! The staff and I are excited to create engaging learning opportunities in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. There is a true sense of community at Natoma Station where everyone feels supported and cared for. Let's make this the best year ever!

Schedule for K-2 August 12-23

Students in grades K-2 will be released at 1:21PM from August 12 to August 23. Students in grades 3-5 are dismissed at our regular time, 2:45 PM. Every Thursday is an early release day for all students in grades K-5 with a 1:15 PM dismissal time. Please call our front office if you have any questions.

Back to School Attendance Challenge

Once again, we are going to focus on ensuring that our Cheetahs are at school on time every day. We have set a daily school wide attendance goal of 97% for the first 20 days of school. The class in grades TK-2nd and in grades 3-5 with the highest weekly attendance rate will get to proudly display an attendance trophy and earn prizes. If we attain our school wide goal, all students will earn extra recess and a popsicle treat. I will report out our weekly progress in Cheetah Bytes. Back to School Night

Please join us for our Back to School Night this upcoming Thursday, August 15. Teachers will share important information about what your child will be learning this year, class procedures, homework expectations, volunteer opportunities, class celebrations and more.

Grades 3rd - 5th: 5:30 - 6:00 PM

Grades Preschool, TK , 1st & 2nd: 6:00 - 6:30

We are not able to provide child care this year. Spiritwear will be for sale in front of the NSE library.

School Site Council

We have open vacancies for parents who are interested in serving on our School Site Council. If you are interested in learning more about our school and providing input for resource allocation and planning, please consider becoming a member. The first three weeks of school students in Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2 will be on a minimum day schedule so teachers can assess students 1-on-1.

• Dates: August 8 - 23

• School begins at 8:15 AM

• School ends at 1:21 PM (except Thursday when dismissal will be always be 1:15 PM for all students)

• Students will be on a regular schedule starting on Monday, August 26.

Please note:

-Transitional Kindergarten students will begin at 8:15 AM and be dismissed at 11:36 AM

-AM Preschool students will begin at 8:15 AM and be dismissed at 10:54 AM

-PM Preschool students will begin at 12:06 PM and be dismissed at 2:45 PM

Students in Grades 3, 4, and 5 will remain on a regular schedule: Begin at 8:15 AM and be dismissed at 2:45 PM (except Thursday when dismissal will be always be 1:15 PM for all students)

A new way to report your student absence this year is to fill out our Absentee Form. This form is available by clicking the link above and is also available on our NSE homepage You will need to fill this form out on each day your student is absent. You may also call our office at 916-294-9145

GOOD NEWS: Breakfast and lunch will be available at all FCUSD schools at no cost to the families! Monthly menus can be found on our NSE homepage under announcements.

Back to School Night will be on Thursday, August 15th. Presentations will be from 5:30-6:00 pm for grades 3-5 and from 6:00-6:30 pm for Preschool/TK and grades K-2. Stay tuned for more information from your child's teacher about Back to School Night. You will be able to purchase NSE Spirit Wear in front of the library. There will be no childcare available.

PTO signups are in full swing, our membership drive will continue through September 2nd.

We are seeking parents who are interested in joining School Site Council. The committee meets 5-6 times per year and reviews how we are doing as a school based on enrollment, site goals, progress on site goals, and guides further efforts on where to focus for continued improvement. If you are interested in joining please email our Parent Coordinator at chvostal@fcusd.org

The nurses office is in need of clothing donations. We are especially in need of boys size 7 pants and shorts with elastic waste bands. Other sizes are useful in both boys and girls clothing. Thank you so much for your support.

Our office is open daily from 7:30 - 4:00. We are also available to answer your questions by phone.
