Nurse Jamie would like to remind all of those families that have medication in the nurse’s office that it must be picked up by an adult no later than Wednesday, May 15th. We do not keep any medication stored over the summer. Any medication not picked up will be destroyed after the pick up date. If your child will need to have medication at school for next year please email or stop by and see Nurse Jamie to pick up the forms that will need to be completed by you and your child’s doctor over the summer.

It's Open Enrollment season and our spots are filling up quickly! For students who begin with us in kindergarten, by 3rd grade they will be in the top 5 schools in DVUSD (that's out of 38 elementary schools!). We are proud of the work we do to prepare our students, and love our parent community involvement as well.

WHO MAY APPLY FOR OPEN ENROLLMENT?

Any family living in Arizona who would like to attend a school that is outside their home school boundaries may apply for Open Enrollment into a DVUSD school. Please view the School Boundary Maps to determine the school you are applying for is not currently your home school.

WHAT IS OPEN ENROLLMENT?
Open Enrollment is a program enacted by the Arizona Legislature and requires all school districts to allow students the opportunity to select a school of their choice, if classroom capacity permits. This also includes capacity in Special Education and programs offered. DVUSD complies fully with all provisions of the statute.

As a reminder, gates open at 8:30AM. School starts promptly at 8:45AM.

Also-- no students will be released after 3:15PM from the office. If you arrive to pick up your child early to avoid traffic lines you will have to wait until the Kinder release (3:20) or 1st-6th release (3:30) to get your child. This minimizes classroom disruptions and ensures students are completing their full day of learning.

Students arriving for breakfast must enter through the front office and cannot arrive before 8:15AM. They must sit in the cafeteria for the entire breakfast period until 8:30AM bell rings to transition to the classroom.

• Registration for our ‘Sun’sational Summer Camp and Summer Preschool will open on February 15! We will be hosting camps at Canyon Springs, Stetson Hills, Park Meadows, Sierra Verde and Arrowhead. Preschool/Prekindergarten will be at Park Meadows. Our Summer Camps are an amazing experience for our children - including guest presenters, field trips, daily enrichment (STEM, Literacy, PACE, Arts & Crafts), and more!
