Cedar Hill Football To Host Mesquite on Friday
The Cedar Hill High School Football Team will host the Mesquite Skeeters at 7 p.m. Friday for the annual Homecoming Game.
After playing four of its first five games on the road, the Longhorns (2-3, 1-1) will play three of its last five at home.
Cedar Hill senior quarterback Tamarion Crochett is fast approaching the 1,000-yard passing mark. He's passed form 815 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception.
Keylon Davis has 18 receptions for 276 yards and two touchdowns. Cedric Mills has 21 receptions for 257 yards and two scores.
Juelz Carter leads the Longhorns in rushing with 291 yards and two touchdowns. Dayshun Reese-Williams is second with 289 yards and four touchdowns.
Mesquite (2-3, 1-1) is a new district opponent for the Longhorns. The Skeeters defeated rival, Mesquite Horn, 24-17, on September 27. Mesquite's other victory was a 50-27 win over North Mesquite on September 6.
In the win over Horn, Mesquite quarterback Sir'Maje Wallace completed 13 of 17 passes for 229 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, and Katron Duckworth had 26 carries for 104 yards and a touchdown. Jerome Broadus caught four passes for 110 yards.

Cedar Hill Volleyball To Face Mesquite Schools This Week
The Cedar Hill High School Volleyball Team rounded out the first half of District 6A-11 Competition with a 3-4 district record.
The Lady Longhorns (21-9, 3-4) will have to win at least four of their next seven matches to return to the postseason.
Cedar Hill will visit Mesquite Horn (10-14) on Tuesday and host Mesquite (4-16) on Friday.

ALUMNI UPDATE:
Denver freshman Jamia Johnson finished with 10 kills and two digs in a 3-2 win over North Dakota. The Pioneers (6-8) will host St. Thomas on Saturday.
Alcorn State freshman Kasey Watkins had a kill and two digs in a 3-0 loss to Prairie View A&M.
Cedar Hill Cross Country To Compete at District Meet on Thursday
The Cedar Hill High School Cross Country Team will compete at the District 6A-11 Championships on Thursday morning in Waxahachie. Varsity Girls run at 8:30 a.m., followed by Varsity Boys at 9 a.m.
Cedar Hill Tennis Qualifies for First Playoff Spot in 10 Years
The Cedar Hill High School Tennis Team qualified for the Bi-District Playoffs for the first time in 10 years with a 10-5 victory over Mesquite Horn last Friday.
The Longhorns (6-3) will visit Waco Midway at 4 p.m. Monday.
In the victory over Horn, Luis Garcia, Omar Arteaga, Alexander Piggatt, Jamaud Jackson and Isaiah Jefferson won Boys Singles Matches. Tessa Bui won a Girls Singles Match. Bui teamed with Kyla Jacobs to win a Girls Doubles Match, as did Ariela Torres and Carrington Lewis.
Omar and Piggatt teamed up to win a Boys Doubles Match, as did Garcia and Jackson.

- Sam Houston punter Jadon Cardell had six punts for 240 yards in a 41-21 win at UTEP. The Bearkats (5-1) can secure their first bowl bid in school history if they defeat Western Kentucky on October 16.
- Texas Tech linebacker Charles Esters III made three tackles and defensive lineman Harvey Dyson III added two tackles in the Red Raiders' 28-22 win at Arizona. Joey McGuire's team is 5-1 and one victory away from its third consecutive bowl game. The Red Raiders haven't reached three consecutive bowl games since 2008-2013. Tech hosts Baylor on October 19.
- Texas Southern defensive lineman Syncere Massey made six tackles in Texas Southern's 28-10 Homecoming Victory over Virginia-Lynchburg. The Tigers (2-3) will host Southern on Saturday.
- Tulsa wide receiver Kamdyn Benjamin caught a team-high seven passes for 44 yards in a 49-7 loss to Army. The Golden Hurricane (2-4) will visit Temple on October 19.
- Stephen F. Austin running back Jaylen Jenkins had 10 carries for a career-high 113 yards in a 59-17 win over Northwestern State. The Lumberjacks (3-2) will visit Lamar on Saturday.
- Texas A&M Commerce defensive lineman Leon Young made two tackles in the Lions' 21-9 loss to Southeastern Louisiana. Commerce (0-5) will visit Northwestern State on Saturday.
- Nebraska wide receivers coach Garrett McGuire and the Cornhuskers (5-1) defeated Rutgers, 14-7, last Saturday. With one more victory, the Cornhuskers will qualify for their first bowl game in eight years.
