Dear Barnard Families,
Some families are finding that their iPad is showing an error message. This is a systems error that is being worked on, not a faulty device.
What can I do if I still need to pick up my child's iPad?
Please remember to bring a completed Tech Waiver form. Families may purchase insurance for their iPad by submitting a check made out to Enfield Public Schools for the amount indicated on the Tech Waiver form. They can also pay the fee on their My School Bucks account. When using this second option, be careful to submit payment for the iPad insurance rather than to your child's lunch account.
Tomorrow's Virtual Meet and Greet/Orientation Events
If you have been unable to set up your child's iPad, you can access their classroom event from almost any event with the following workaround.
Please see below:
In the case that your student iPad set up is not complete, you can still join your child's classroom Open House by following these steps:
- Go to www.office.com from any device
- Type in your child's email address (provided at the bottom of the letter you received with homeroom information) and password to log in to Office 365.
- Select the Teams icon from the start page.
- Select the Calendar icon from the left toolbar
- Find your child's open house meeting on the calendar and select to see the details.
- When it is time, click Join!
You can also download the Teams app on personal phones or devices. Once downloaded, you can log in to the app using your child's provided email and password in order to access the Open House meeting. The calendar icon will be at the bottom of the Teams screen. From there, you will see the open house meeting which you can tap and join.
What if I can't make it?

New Staff and Long Term Substitutes
Mrs. Martino, a much loved member of our second grade team, recently decided to retire. Her class will be taken over by Miss Hallas, who you will get to meet virtually tomorrow.
Mrs. Mitchell's class will be lead by Miss Desautelle, a Barnard regular who has been with us for several years. Mrs. Mitchell plans to be back with us in November. Miss Desautelle will hold the class meet and greet at the same time as the other first grade teachers.
Mrs. Bannon's class will be lead by Miss Verburg, who was with us as a long term substitute through the majority of the 2019-2020 school year. We expect Mrs. Bannon back later in the fall. The virtual meet and greet for Mrs. Bannon's class has been postponed until next Thursday evening. Expect to see an invitation soon!
We would also like to welcome Mrs. MacFeat to the first grade team. She is replacing Mrs. Cooper, who will be serving our students and families as our newest Math Consultant.
Miss Wille, our new social worker, will be replacing Mrs. Parker.
