A Message from the Principal

It's a Great Day to Be an Eagle! Students may wear costumes to school tomorrow. Please see the costume rules below. Our fifth grade students will return from camp tomorrow. We will have sign out sheets available for families to take your fifth grader home after the bus arrives. Remember that Friday, Nov. 1st is a Pupil Free Day (No School) then next week Monday, Nov. 4th–12, begins Parent-Conference week with dismissal at 2pm.

Pet Reminder

We love seeing you walk your pets to school with your student(s) but we have a few reminders.

Pets are not allowed on campus in the walkways leading to gates and beyond
Please do not allow students to pet your pet
Please clean up after your pet.

Please Read-Safety Concerns: Pick up/Drop off

Safety concern: Student should never be crossing the street outside of the crosswalk, through other cars, in the middle of the street. Please don't ask your students to run across, through cars, as this is extremely unsafe. Near the gate on Willow, more parents are driving the wrong way on the one way street off of Willow, please adhere to all parking and directional signs at all times. Cars that are being left unattended in the middle of the street can cause traffic to back up and possible accidents. Please do not park in the bus loading zone or in red zone, or turn your hazards on and leave your car double parked and unattended with/without other children inside. Safety is our utmost concern, and we thank you in advance for making sure we keep everyone safe and ticket free. Our school neighbors have kindly asked that we remind parents to NOT block their driveways when dropping off and picking up, OR, leave any children in their cars unattended while walking to drop off other siblings to the school campus.

SCHOOL CENTS FUNDRAISER - SEPT 1 THROUGH APRIL 30

This year we are excited to announce that Emerson will be participating in the School Cents fundraiser. We have an opportunity to raise money by shopping at any of the following shopping Centers through April 30th - Lakewood Mall, Los Cerritos Mall, and Stonewood Center. The only thing we need from families is your receipts uploaded to their website from any participating stores it those centers. They can either be dropped off at the school for us to upload, they can be emailed to Emerson directly (a link will be provided before Friday), or they can be uploaded by the person making the purchase. Friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, and anyone else who you'd like to invite can participate.

SCHOOL CENTS FUNDRAISER - HAPPENING NOW!!

If your family is planning a trip to Pa's Pumpkin patch between now and October 31st, save your receipts! This counts towards our School Cents Fundraiser. You can upload the receipts yourself, or drop them off in the office and we can do the work for you. 🎃

Bell Schedule

Please allow extra time to get to school as we anticipate there maybe be traffic due to the new start time for Middle and High school students.

~REGULAR BELL SCHEDULE FOR 2024/25~

**WARNING BELL RINGS AT 8:55 A.M. EVERY DAY**

TK & K 9:00 - 3:00

1st - 3rd 9:00 – 3:05

4th & 5th 9:00 – 3:10

EVERY THURSDAY TK – 5th Grade 2:30 dismissal

*** TK and Kinder will follow a minimum day schedule for the first 3 weeks of school. All TK and Kinder students will attend school from 9:00-2:00!!! This will be from 08/27/24 - 09/13/24.

School Wellness & Prevention Lessons

In accordance with Board Policies 5145.7 (Sexual Harassment), 5145.9 (Hate-Motivated Behaviors), 5131.2 (Bullying Prevention), and 5142.52 (Suicide Prevention), students will review key procedures and processes to support a safe and welcoming environment. Ms. Williams our school counselor will facilitate these lessons and send communications prior to the start of the lessons.

IMPORTANT: Update Your Contact & Emergency Information

We need to know how to reach you! Please make sure you provide the most accurate information to receive texts, e-mails or phone calls, and in case of an emergency. Parents are now required to verify or update their information, including emergency contacts, online in their ParentVue account. We will no longer send home emergency cards. Please see the video below on how to update your information.
