District 103
Daniel Wright Administrative Updates
Hello District 103 Community,
I am proud to introduce the appointment of three administrators and one returning administrator who will assume vital roles at Daniel Wright Junior High School.
I am happy to share the news of Mr. Mike Jerzyk's new role. A seasoned physical education (PE) teacher, Mr. Jerzyk will take on the dual role of part-time Dean and part-time PE teacher for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. Mr. Jerzyk has demonstrated his dedication to Daniel Wright and District 103, not only as a PE teacher since 2012, but also serving as the Principal of D103’s Summer School for the past six years. His passion for guiding students toward academic, social, and emotional growth will be a valuable asset in his new capacity. A new teacher will be hired to teach the other half of PE classes.
Additionally, we welcome Mr. Connor See to D103. With an impressive background spanning over eight years in the field of special education as a teacher, administrator, and college professor, Mr. See will assume the role of Assistant Principal for Student Services. His most recent endeavor was as the Program Director and Instructor at Southern Illinois University. Mr. See's understanding of special education, coupled with his ability to build connections with students, staff, and families, will make him a positive addition to the Daniel Wright community.
As mentioned in an earlier notice, Ms. Kendra Perri, our part-time Director of Curriculum and Multilingual Learning, will be adding to her role as part-time interim principal at Daniel Wright. Ms. Perri has over 23 years of experience in education as a teacher and administrator, with the past nine years here in District 103. Ms. Perri’s understanding of student learning and her strong relationships will serve Daniel Wright well. In the upcoming fall and winter, we will initiate a search for a new principal who will assume the permanent position at Daniel Wright in the 2024-2025 school year.
Another familiar face, Dr. Nina Nusbaum, will continue as Assistant Principal of Daniel Wright marking her seventh year in the district and fourth year as Assistant Principal. Her knowledge of Daniel Wright as well as her strong connections to the staff, students and community are invaluable during this transition.
As always, thank you for your partnership in raising our Leaders in Learning. We look forward to our students returning to school on the 24th of August!
All the best,
Scott Warren, Ed.D
Superintendent of D103 Schools

Locker Setup at DW
In order to provide students with an opportunity to locate their lockers and organize their school supplies prior to the start of school, Daniel Wright is offering Locker Setup Days. Volunteers will be available on the dates and times listed below to help students locate their lockers, use their combinations, and organize their supplies. Teachers will not be present on these days. We encourage students to come during their grade level’s assigned day; however, students may visit the school on a different grade level day if that better fits their summer schedule.
- Grade 6: Tuesday, August 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Grades 7 and 8: Wednesday, August 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
If students are unable to attend one of the assigned locker setup days, please note that time is given to all students on the first day of school for locker setup.
Students MAY NOT access their lockers on Tuesday, August 22, and Wednesday, August 23, due to back to school staff meetings at DW.
Keep Track of School Events
We encourage you to subscribe to your child's calendar so meetings and events can automatically be added to your personal calendar.
Add $$ to Lunch Account
Students pay for school lunches using MySchoolBucks. Students will have ID cards that show their lunch balance. We encourage you to sign up for autoreplenish so your account does not go negative. You should also sign up for Low Balance Emails so you are notified if account is low. Quest Food Services, the district's lunch provider, puts lunch menus in FD MealPlanner.
School Supplies
Please find the school supplies necessary for a given grade on our District 103 website under school supplies. Even if you ordered PTO kits, Half Day has added additional items to its grade level lists so please review them.
