Message from Principals

We can't believe March is here! We're kicking off the month by celebrating the joy of reading! We will have our book fair here at school and students and are encouraged to participate in our dress up days for Read Across America Week! Kindergarten registration for the 2025-2026 school year opens on March 10th, and student-led conferences will be March 10th and 11th from 3:15pm-6:30pm. We're always excited for our students to have the opportunity to share all they have been learning, and we look forward to seeing all of our families! Our 1st graders will have their music program this month, and they will also take a field trip. Our 3rd graders will also take a field trip and we'll have a family night right before spring break. We are so thankful for our students and families and look forward to another great month at Monitor!

2025-2026 Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration for the 2025-2026 school year opens on Monday, March 10th. You can visit www.registration.sdale.org to register your child. We look forward to meeting our future mallards!

Monitor Book Fair

Our book fair is March 10th-March 14th. Students will be able to shop during the school day and the book fair will be open late on Monday and Tuesday night during conferences. Below is a link where you can check out what books will be available. We can't wait to see what books our students choose!

Student-Led Conferences

Mark your calendar! Student-led conferences will be March 10th and 11th. Look for more information coming home from your child's teacher! We look forward to seeing all of our families and are excited for our students to be able to share all they are learning!

No School: Spring Break

There will be NO SCHOOL from Monday, March 24th - Friday, March 28th for spring break. School will resume on Monday, March 31st at 7:45am.

ELPA21 Testing

All English Language Learners will participate in the ELPA21 assessment when we return from spring break. This assessment includes tests in reading, writing, listening, and speaking and will provide our teachers with information to inform instruction for our English Language Learners. Below are the dates each grade level will be testing. If your child will be testing, please make sure he or she arrives to school on time, gets plenty of rest the night before, and has a positive start to their day. We can't wait for our students to show all they know!

Testing Schedule:

K, 4th, and 5th Grade: April 1st & April 3rd
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grade: April 2nd & April 4th

Monitor Career Day

Dress Code Reminders

As the weather is changing and students are growing, please be mindful of the following school dress code items:

Distressed jeans should have holes or rips above fingertip length.
Shirts should be long enough so the midriff is not showing.
Pajama pants should be worn on pajama days only.

Parent Center

If you have not yet visited our parent center, in the front lobby right outside the counseling office, we invite you to come look at the resources we have waiting for you!
