Sauder Honored

U.S. News & World Report recently published their list of the best public elementary schools. They placed Sauder in the top elementary schools in the state of Ohio, making Sauder a 2025 U.S. News Best Elementary School. The top-ranked schools are high-achieving ones that succeed in educating all of their students. We're so thankful for our great students, families and staff who make this recognition possible.

24-25 Sauder Yearbook

5th Grade Band Info from Mrs. Sullivan

  • The 5th Grade Band Holiday Concert is Monday, December 9 at 6:30pm.

  • We hold the band concert in the Jackson High School Main Gym. Cars will pull into the parking lot at the stoplight which is next to the Jackson Township Historical Society (by the HS baseball field). Park in lots 1-4 and enter the building at entrance #16W. You will walk straight ahead and the main gym is on the right.

  • Students should be at the High School Main Gym by 6:10pm with their instrument, Tradition of Excellence book and folding music stand.

  • Concert dress (any color): Dress pants, dress shirt, dress or skirt of appropriate length, dress shoes.

  • NO jeans, athletic pants, athletic shoes, flip flops or t-shirts
  • Band classes continue on normal days after the concert, but there will be NO 5th GRADE BAND ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 20.

Fees

Student fee invoices for the 2024-2025 were sent home with students on November 1. Fees can be paid by check made out to Jackson Local Schools and sent in with your student, or you may click this link to pay fees online.

Outdoor Recess

As a reminder, during the winter months children go outside for recess when the temperature, including windchill, is 15 degrees F or higher. We encourage students to dress appropriately for the weather (warm coats, hats, gloves and boots).

Artsonia

If you plan to order a special keepsake featuring your child’s artwork from Artsonia, be sure to place your order in time for Christmas delivery! Standard shipping orders are due by Monday, December 16, and express shipping is available until 11:00 am EST on Friday, December 20. Jackson Local Schools Backpack Food Program

The Backpack Food Program, a partnership with RiverTree Jackson, is a service we are pleased to offer to the families of Jackson Local Schools. This program aims to send home a variety of easy, ready-to-eat meals and snacks for your child over the weekend. There are no income requirements for this program. The bags will be delivered to your child’s school, and your child can bring home the bag. Please complete this quick application to apply to be part of the Backpack Food Program.

Bus Information

Parents can see bus route information on the Stopfinder app. This app allows parents to monitor their child(ren)'s transportation route. The routing software and student ID badge scanning on the buses work in conjunction with the Stopfinder app. If you need assistance with the app, please contact the transportation office.

School Breakfast and Lunch Information

The USDA is not offering free breakfast and lunch for public education students for the 24-25 school year. If you need monetary assistance with breakfast/lunch, please fill out the free and reduced lunch form. If you have questions about this form, please contact Marsha Escola, Food Service Supervisor, at 330-830-8031. All application information is confidential.

Student Drop Off and Pick Up

Student Drop Off and Pick Up--In the morning, you may drop off your child at Sauder door 2S beginning at 8:30 am. In order to access the Sauder drop off line, please turn into the JMMS driveway off of Mudbrook. Depending on the length of the Sauder drop off line, you may need to veer to the right and drive in front of JMMS door 5W and loop around the JMMS parking lot along the football stadium fence. This allows more cars safer access to the drop off line and prevents a backup on Mudbrook. Students who are dropped off are supervised in the gym until they are dismissed to their classrooms at 8:45. Students who are dropped off after 8:45 go straight to their classrooms. Our pm parent pickup car-line begins at Door 2S each day at approximately 3:30 pm. To access this car-line, parents should follow the same procedure as am drop off described above.


Student Pick Up Note--If you plan on picking up your child from school every day this year, please have your child take a note to his/her teacher with the student’s first and last name, the date, and teacher’s name. In the note, please indicate that your child is parent pick-up until further notice. If you want to change from parent pick-up due to an appointment, or you have decided to have your child ride the bus, you will need to send a note on the day of the change with your child’s first and last name, the date, teacher’s name, and the change that you are requesting.

SmartSocial

The Jackson Local School District believes in partnering with parents and providing them with resources to help navigate the world of technology, games, and social media. While advances in technology have many great rewards, there is also the potential for harm. Since December, we have provided a resource and hope more parents and students, as appropriate by age, will take advantage of this.


We have partnered with SmartSocial.com for its on-demand courses for parents and students. The SmartSocial resources cover a wide range of digital and social media topics. We are providing a parent subscription package to these resources to help you learn how to navigate the negative (and positive) parts of social media with your students.
