Moms Meetings
January 14th
- Country Place clubhouse at 3600 Country Place Drive, Plano, Tx.
- Our speaker will be Ms. Jamie Antignani. She is a Certified Fitness Trainer and Certified Health Specialist/Natural Health Specialist and will be speaking on fitness, wellness and essential oils.
- Pizza and salad will be provided by Napoli’s. Bring wine to share if you'd like!
- Please RSVP NOW so we can get an accurate count for food.
February 11th
- Annual Chili Cook off
- Country Place clubhouse
- Bring "mom drinks" to share if you'd like!
- We'd like to have at least 8 contestants.
- Prizes for the best tasting, spiciest and most creative.

- 2020 - 671 hours 25 active members
- 2021 - 1061 hours, 34 active members
- 2022 - 504 hours, 15 active members
- 2023 - 1036 hours - 32 active members
REMINDER- To stay in good standing, both moms and boys MUST have 50% hours completed by Feb. 1st, 2020. If you have any questions please contact Kim Reichmuth at kreichmuth@hotmail.com
Membership Drive - Sponsor forms are available and due no later than February 11th.
The membership drive dates are as follows:
- January 14th - a brief Sponsor Workshop will be held during the January Mom’s Meeting
- February 11th - Prospective Member Informational Meeting will be held before the Mom’s Meeting AND Sponsor Forms will be due on this date.
- February 15th - 28th - Current Member re-enrollment
- March 2nd - Letters of Intent Due from prospective members
- March 4th - New Member Selection, lottery if necessary
- March 5th - Acceptance emails sent to new members. Also, declination emails will be sent if we have more applicants than available spots in the class.
- March 31st - Enrollment deadline for new members
Calling all Legacies! If you have a current 8th grader, please sign the “Legacy Log” at the January Mom’s Meeting on January 14th or contact Celeste DeLuca before January 17th. It is important that we have an accurate count of our legacies as we begin our membership drive!
Ultimate Gift was a success at Plano Community Home!
- 77 members served 235.5 hours!
- You donated $1605 in gift cards that were used to purchase landscaping supplies and kitchenette items.
- You donated many items for the kitchenette including pots, serving utensils, knife sets, paper goods, iced tea mixes and a wall mounted fan.
- Our Ultimate Gift Chair Irene Ramirez and President Becki Girouard presented gift items to staff and residents at Plano Community Home’s Thanksgiving Feast.
Landscaping
- Cleaned out 20+ beds, 2 large raised beds, created several new beds, pulled weeds, pruned existing shrubs and removed dead shrubs, planted 24+ flats of flowers and several plants and shrubs and filled several new pots. Loaded wheelbarrows multiple times making many trips to spread mulch and landscape rocks.
- Cleaned four bus stop areas.
- Volunteers brought their own garden tools, wheelbarrows and work gloves. Thank you!
Community Room
- Cleaned, reorganized and laid shelf liners in all cabinets and drawers in the kitchenette.
- Sanitized all tables and chairs in the Community Room and Craft Room.
Residence Hall
- Sanitized handrails on all 3 floors.
- Sanitized exercise equipment.
Craft Room
- Reorganized of all videotapes and DVDs.
Library
- Began alphabetizing and organizing current book collection.
- Watch for special opportunities to complete this project.

Photo Storage
Documenting our time with YSML is extremely important!. We need your help! Please take pictures at any of the events you attend throughout the year and UPLOAD them onto the YMSL website. This could be volunteer opportunities, boy meetings, mom meetings, and special events. Organizing the photos will also help your class when it's time for the Senior Slideshow!
NOTE: High resolution pictures from your camera or phone are much better quality than photos pulled off of Facebook!!
The folders are ready for you now. Happy uploading! Here is how you do it:
Login into YMSL website
Click “Photo” tab on the top bar. On the right side scroll down and click on the appropriate folder. Please include events, volunteer activities & boys meetings that only pertain to a specific class year.
- Class of 2020 Pictures 2019-2020
- Class of 2021 Pictures 2019-2020
- Class of 2022 Pictures 2019-2020
- Class of 2023 Pictures 2019-2020
- 2019-2020 Mom Meetings and Mom Events - Please include Mom Meetings and Mom Special Events that include all grade levels
Title photo - if possible, label pictures as follows:
- CO202X Activity Name Event Date (ex. CO2023 Bedstart 08242019)
- X – Class Graduation Year
- Activity Name – such as BedStart, Friday Night Friends, etc
- Event Date – ex. 08192019 (Aug 18, 2019)
Caption - list names in pictures if known

Logging Hours
- Be sure to log your hours as soon as you have completed your service. If you don't, you will receive a reminder email and you can do it then. If for some reason you missed your assignment please do not log hours. A new procedure on how to address missed hours is coming soon.
- When logging your hours, be sure to log the actual number of hours served. If no number is entered the entry will not be accepted.
Requirement Reminders
Philanthropy Hours for Moms and Sons
If you cancel within 48 hours of your shift and there is not a wait list, you are responsible for finding your replacement. If you do not find a replacement, you will receive a penalty of 2 hours.
9th - 11th Grades
- Minimum of 20 approved philanthropy hours each.
- Member Mom & Son must complete 10 philanthropy hrs together.
- 9th Grade Provisional Member Mom & Son must work a minimum of four different philanthropies
12th Grade
- Minimum of 15 approved philanthropy hours each.
- Member Mom & Son must complete 7 philanthropy hrs together
Meeting Requirements
- Moms: Minimum of 3 meetings
- Sons: Minimum of 5 meetings
- Senior Sons: Minimum of 4 meetings
If the minimum number of meetings are not attended, the member mom and/or the son MUST complete an additional 2 philanthropy hours for each meeting missed.
