Weekly Community Updates - April 18
Dear Students and Families,
And just like that, we have 6 weeks left of the school year! Students were just given their final progress reports of the school year. The grades posted under "Report Card" on ParentVUE are to communicate to students and families what grades students are earning right now. If this grade is not what you are expecting then this is a great time for you to reach out to teachers. If you have any questions or concerns about your students' grade, teachers can help answer these questions. The last six weeks of the school year will go fast so contact them now.
To all seniors, graduation is just around the corner! Below in the senior section is lots of information about the graduation ceremony and events leading to graduation. We are looking forward to celebrating our seniors!
Take care,
Maritza Torres

PSAL / PAL - League Change
Oceana will be joining the Private School Athletic League (PSAL) for the 2026-2027 school year. Oceana was approached by the PSAL earlier this school year and asked us to join the league. Academic Council will be discussing this change in April and we would like to hear from families about this league change. Please email Mr. Johnston, at djohnston@jeffersonunion.net, and Ms. Torres, mtorres@jeffersonunion.net, to share any input about this placement.
To share a little information, the PSAL is a league of the CIF/ Central Coast Section. PSAL is comprised of local high schools in the Central Coast Section participating in interscholastic athletics. Currently, the PSAL has 23 league member schools. For Oceana, cross-country, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, and track and field will all join the PSAL. Our remaining teams, boys and girls tennis, wrestling, and swimming will still compete in the Peninsula Athletic League (PAL). Oceana will remain in the PAL as a provisional member for these three sports. Oceana will maintain all of our current sports programs.
