A Note from Ms. Owens

Thank you to all the parents and guardians who attended Parent-Teacher Conferences last Thursday. It was a busy night and a long day for our faculty; however, these conversations are an important factor in student success whether the child is working above grade level, struggling in a particular subject, or performing on grade level. Parents and guardians making the time for these conversations shows your child that their academic progress matters.

I would be remiss if I didn't give a huge thank you to our entire School Advisory Board for all their work in making our Chargers Walk a huge success. Thank you to Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. Bevan, Mrs. Haslam, Mrs. Ferriter, Mrs. Williams, Mr. Heinlen, Mrs. Rhein, Mr. Jordan and Mrs. Benkomeyer. They organized and distributed t-shirts, wrapped lots and lots of hot dogs and worked with me on day-ofevent logistics. Special thanks go to Mrs. Bevan for taking the lead on this entire effort coordinatiing with Booster to increase the amount of money generated by SCA's annual walk-a-thon.

Additional thank yous to Mrs. Carey and all the SCA family and friends who patronized Culver's of Evergreen Park on Thursday night. These Eat & Earns bring in money for our amazing Family School Association (FSA).

A Bit More News...

Registration for November's Beyond the Books went home in last week's white envelopes. Forms and payment are due to back to SCA on Wednesday, October 30.

Our Happy Halloween Parade is set for 1:45PM on Thursday, October 31. We will complete two laps around the parking lots (main and south) and end up in the gym for a Halloween Pep Assembly sponsored by our Student Council.
Once again, St. Catherine will collect extra Halloween candy from November 1-15. Candy will be donated to a long-standing organization that serves the homeless population in the Chicagoland area. Families can send the candy in with their student - or they can bring it into school on the sly if needed! 👻👾😉🍬
