Celebrate Valentine's Day with Local Ice Cream!
On Monday, for Valentine’s Day, FIS will be serving KY Proud Taylor Belle’s vanilla ice cream for lunch. Taylor Belle’s was started by Taylor Cook as a FFA project when she was 15 years old. She is now in college at UK and also running her business full-time. Her ice cream is sold at Rupp Arena and Kroger Field, and it is made with Kentucky milk and other products. The next PTSA Meeting is March 24th@ 4:45 in the SSS Riverview Cafe’. We have LOTS of exciting things happening this next few months so you will not want to miss! If you are interested in being involved through a committee please email us and let us know your interest, this is where the magic happens!

Our staff are pushing through one of the hardest times, all for our kids. To help show them some love we have arranged for The Rooster’s Whistle to set up at SSS next Friday, February 25th. They will offer specialty coffee and hot drinks for staff to purchase while we rally together to provide breakfast treats.

COVID Protocols Update
Frankfort Independent Schools has been consistent in following CDC Guidelines throughout this pandemic. Due to this fact, the CDC recently changed its guidance and we are following the latest guidelines. Here are the latest updated guidelines (contact tracing):
Quarantine & Contact Tracing
-In school exposure with universal masking:
Individuals with an at-school exposure don't need to quarantine if they aren't having symptoms but are recommended to test on days 5-7. Parents will be notified via our new dashboard.
If it is an outside of school exposure the following individuals must quarantine: anyone who isn't vaccinated, anyone over 18 who isn't up to date with recommended Covid-19 vaccines
Test To Stay
- Student or staff member must be asymptomatic
- When participating in the program the patient must wear a mask
- Students and staff are allowed to participate
- Outside of school exposures can now be tested
Test to Stay Dates
- Day 0 - {LAST DAY OF EXPOSURE TO POSITIVE CASE} - No testing - Allowed to stay at school -
- Day 1- test- Go to school only if negative
- Day 2- test-Go to school only if negative
- Day 3- test-Go to school only if negative
- Day 4- test-Go to school only if negative
- Day 5- test - Go to school only if negative ** (Special Note-If Day 5 falls on a weekend or day that school is not in session, then the individual will be tested the next day that school is in session.
