Welcome to 2025! We are sending our January newsletter out a bit early as we have a few things coming up that we want to remind you of. Conferences will be held January 16 at Gordon Parks from 3:30 - 6:00. You can come anytime within that window and do not need to schedule an appointment. We will be serving a light dinner for you to enjoy before you leave. Teachers and counselors will be available to answer questions about students' progress. The end of the quarter is in two weeks! Students are working hard to ensure they are caught up in their classes and earning their credit. Students will not have school on Monday, January 27th so teachers can finalize grades. We look forward to seeing you on the 16th!

For those of you who do not know me. I have an infectious laugh that can be heard throughout the building. I have two grown daughters and 7 grandchildren who all live in Forest Lake, Minnesota. I have worked in various clerical capacities and at various sites in St Paul Public Schools starting as a Clerk 1 in 1986 and have continued to move up the ladder for the past 38 years to my current position as a Clerk 4. I’m also a notary public and I do some taxes (no business taxes) during the tax season. I worked at the Minnesota State Fair for several years up until about 3 years ago. I successfully served our country in the Armed Forces in the early 80’s. I love doing Sudoku puzzles, playing cards, board games, and going to the casino. I love going on cruises, visiting family, meeting people, barbecuing, movie nights and going to the spa and having massages. And…..Believe it or not, I just made it to 60 years young a couple of months ago! I’m feeling very Blessed!

Since starting in late September, I have loved becoming a part of the GPHS Family! I have been working to build relationships with students and families and hope to continue to get to know all of you. This is my first time in a school setting and I truly feel as though I have found what I am meant to be doing!
My prior work consists of group homes, working with young women on probation, child protection case manager and children's mental health case manager. I was born and raised in Michigan (Go Lions!) I attended Michigan State University for my bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and University of Minnesota for my master's degree in Social Work.
In my free time you can typically find me in a corner reading a book, building a new Lego set, watching endless amounts of sports, or hanging with friends!
