Anyone Can Be a Hero: 9-11 Presentation
After 9-11, Missy Schmidt's sister, Master First Sergeant Elizabeth Morales of the US Air Force, was deployed to Iraq. During her time there, she dedicated an American flag to Missy. The flag shared with her class was an actual flag flown in combat aboard an HH-60 Black Hawk helicopter on August 22, 2008.
In her slideshow presentation, Missy shared with the students about heroes and how anyone can be a hero.
3rd Grade attended Farm and Fun Day at the Worth County Fairgrounds
Worth County Farm Bureau hosted their annual Ag Fair/Farm Safety for third graders from Northwood-Kensett and Central Springs Manly & Nora Springs locations) to learn about agriculture and farm safety. The students visited 15 stations which included: Northwood Fire & EMS, Mercy One Air Med, Drones, Combine Safety, Swine, Dairy, Corn & Soybeans, Grain Safety, Conservation, Electrical Safety, Horse, Poultry, Beef, Sheep, and Soil Conservation.

Thank you to the schools for letting their students attend.
Rock Sirius Masonic Lodge #294 Donation
We would like to thank Rock Sirius Masonic Lodge #294 for their $200.00 donation to the kindergarten classroom. We decided to use the money to purchase each student a lined, magnetic white board and magnetic letters for use during reading and writing lessons. We are very excited to add these supplies to our kindergarten classroom.
Thank you,

Football
The team is off to a strong start with a 3-2 record. Previously ranked 15th, marking the first time ever that the football team has been ranked.
This season also brought two school firsts:
- Scoring 50 points in a game.
- Leading by 35 points in a game.
With only having a few seniors, the team is full of talented underclassmen. It’s a great group of hardworking kids who play together as a unit.
Girls Rugby
The team kicked off their season with a 36-10 win over Des Moines Roosevelt and a 24-14 victory against Fort Dodge.
With 14 girls on the roster, the team is eager to host another home tournament on October 14.
We’re very excited to get started with games, see what we can accomplish, and just compete!
Fall Musical
The Central Springs Choral department is proud to present Disney's Camp Rock. Our story follows Mitchie Torres and her friends who arrive at Camp Rock, ready to spend another summer jamming out and having the time of their lives. But the new, flashy Camp Star across the lake now threatens Camp Rock's very existence. To keep the doors open, Mitchie steps up, rallies her fellow Camp Rockers and gets them into top shape for the ultimate showdown in this classic tale of rivalry and power! Come see our show on November 8th and 9th at 7:30pm and November 10th at 2:30pm in the Central Springs High School Auditorium.
