Roadrunner Report
Hello Glenmeade Families,
I hope everyone is enjoying their time off. I just wanted to send out a newsletter before the office was closed for the summer.
The office will be closed from Friday, June 13- Friday, July 11.
The office will reopen Monday, July 14.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jeanette Kwon
Principal of Chino Valley's Hidden Gem
What's Happening
- TK and Kindergarten- Thursday, July 31 @ 1:30-2:30
- 1st -6th grade, August 1 @ 9-10 am
First Day of School: Monday, August 4
Glenmeade Reminder
Just a reminder that the first bell rings at 7:40 a.m.
There is a warning bell at 7:48 a.m.
The gate closes at 7:50 a.m.
School is out at 2:30 p.m.
Around 2:40 we will bring all students into the office and adults who are picking up students will need to come into the office with a valid ID to sign their student out.
Please be mindful of the traffic.
Please pull all the way forward for dropping off and picking up, this makes the line go faster. If you stop with the line, have your student exit or enter the car. When we have multiple cars exiting during drop off and entering during pick up, the line goes much faster.
There are no LEFT TURNS from the parking lot during pick up and drop off. There are way too many cars that get stuck in our parking lot. Let's keep the traffic flowing and make that right turn. Thank you for taking into consideration everyone else who is picking up and dropping off their students as well.
Roadrunner Recognition
We want to recognize our staff members who are making a positive difference in the lives of our students and families. Fill out this form to recognize a Glenmeade staff member who has gone above and beyond to help you and/or shown kindness.
Parking Lot
Please do not
- leave your car unattended in the pick up and drop off line
- make a left turn out of the parking lot
- park in handicap spots without a handicap placard
- park in a non-parking space
All of these can result in a citation.
We have a new sign as you exit the parking lot. It reads: No LEFT TURN
7 to 9 A.M and 2 to 4 PM --> Monday - Friday
and 10:30 to 12:30 on Thursdays.
PLEASE WATCH OUT!!!!
Please watch out for anyone in the parking lot who may be walking to or from their cars. When backing out of the parking lot, be mindful that there are a lot of parents and students. Use your back up camera, and slowly exit the parking lot.
Parking lot reminders:
Thank you for using the right lane for pick up and drop off.
The left lane is for passing ONLY, you cannot stop and wait in the left lane. The left lane is not for passing all the cars and then going into the right lane in front of the rest of the line to drop off or pick up your child. Please be mindful of all the people who have waited their turn in line.
- Please help us by parking in DESIGNATED areas only. Please avoid parking in "No Parking" spots. The handicap spots that are in those areas may require the doors to open as wide as they can, for wheel chair accessibility, or just a safe space for those individuals who need them.
*Anyone who parks in a "No Parking" area can and will be cited.*
Attendance Challenges
- Every week we pull attendance data and Mrs. Kwon announces the top 3 classes for TK-2nd grade and 3rd-6th grade. At the end of each month, Ms. Cyndi pulls a report that shows which classes got 1st place, one from TK-2nd grade, and one from 3rd-6th. Mrs. Kwon announces the winners on the first Monday of the new month.
- On the last day of the month, Mrs. Kwon will be choosing random students from a bin of RoWards. She will announce the winners near the end of the day, only students who are present can collect their prize.
Handbooks 2024-2025
Here is a quick place for you to have access to our handbooks.
Cell phone/Electronic Policy
CELL PHONES, SMART WATCHES, ELECTRONICS –
Glenmeade is proud to announce that we provide student access to Chromebooks in all of our classrooms. Students should only use electronic devices under the direct supervision of the teacher, so there is no need for students to bring their own devices from home. This includes cell phones, smart watches, iPads, and tablets. It is recommended that all electronics be left at home and not brought to school. If a student brings electronics to school, they must be off and put away once they arrive on campus. Privacy rights must not be violated. Cell phones can be brought to school if they are turned off and left in the student’s backpack until after school.
