Heath Brook School...
Information and news from and to the school community
Hello Heath Brook families,
December feels like a very short month this year - take time to do the things with families that are important - and feel free to leave other things off the "to do" list.

Construction update: We're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel for our D wing flood and HVAC renovations. We are hopeful that folks will be able to move to permanent classrooms by early January. Here is where folks will teach and be located after the move. If a teacher is not mentioned, then they will remain in their current space.

Miss Niles - First Grade: FROM A14 TO D21
Mrs. DeCarolis - First Grade: FROM A15 TO D25

Dressing for recess and the weather...While we watch to be sure it's not too cold or windy for children (we have a weather safety chart) we DO want to give all children a chance to go outside for the before-school and lunchtime recesses. Please be sure your child has appropriate outerwear - and label whatever you can - our lost and found piles up quickly with one mitten, one glove, hats, scarves.

Parent Teacher Conferences are Wednesday, December 18, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Conferences are only 10 minutes long, and the two hours gives time for 12 meetings. Teachers have reached out to families with ways to sign up, and have also connected and made themselves available for times outside of the evening of the 18th.

For those who celebrate holidays this month, we wish you a very happy season. For those who are scheduling vacations or other fun things to do during the break, have a terrific time. For those who want to keep your pajamas on and binge-watch your favorite shows, take time to do that too.

Coat Drive - sponsored by PAC
We are currently running our Coats for Kids drive. There is a bin in the front lobby at school. Drop off your old but good conditioned jackets there and we will do the rest. Coats for Kids & Families accepts warm winter coats that are new or gently used, good quality, and all sizes (especially XL and infant/pre-K sizes). The drive does not accept coats with rips, tears, broken zippers, or permanent stains, nor does the drive accept sweatshirts, vests and spring coats, boots, scarves or gloves.
Expectations at TMHS events at Doucette Field
As with any TMHS sponsored event, whether in Tewksbury or on the road, the school code of conduct as outlined in Student Handbooks applies to all students. In addition:
- Students who are not in high school (grades 9-12) are required to be accompanied by an adult.
- Adults who are accompanying children are required to supervise them before, during and after the game.
- The playground area next to the Center School will be closed during games.
- Outside food and/or beverages may not be brought into the stadium.
- Smoking, vaping and/or consumption of alcohol is not allowed anywhere on school property.
- Upon entry, all bags are subject to be searched.
- There will be no re-entry into the stadium upon leaving the event.
- For the rest of the season and playoffs, all fans must pay an entrance fee, even those students wearing Tewksbury Youth Football jerseys. The only exceptions are senior citizens.
We appreciate your cooperation and attention to these matters and are enthusiastically looking forward to an enjoyable season of athletic events for all.
