Mustang Minutes
2/2/2025
All Things Mustangs
This last weekend is just another example of how great this community really is. We had a great support group of parents, students and staff that pulled off a wrestling invite on Friday with over 300 wrestlers, transitioned to a basketball game in less than 15 minutes and then set back up the wrestling meet for Saturday within 15 minutes following the basketball game.
A lot to celebrate as we enter February. From FFA and FBLA weeks to district wrestling and basketball to State Cheer and Dance and Conference Speech. And just one month from now we will be getting ready to start the Spring season. Get out and support POSITIVELY!!!

The Junior High Student Council is partnering with Nebraska Make-A-Wish to raise funds for Nebraska Make-A-Wish to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Our district goal is to collect over $1,000. The 7th and 8th grade dance will kick-off the event with a portion of the proceeds going to Nebraska Make-A-Wish on January 24. A coin drive competition will be held with the elementary buildings competing against the Jr/Sr High building the week of January 27-31. A donation collection will be set up at the wrestling meets on January 26, 31, and February 1. To donate online, please click the link:
New Activity Bus
We ordered a new activity bus nearly two years ago and it was finally completed and delivered last week! You can see the image below. This bus will carry all of our kids to every different type of activity we offer. The bus has underneath storage for equipment, instruments, props and more. The bus will rotate between groups based on events and distance traveled. We estimate that the bus will be on the road more than 100 days each year and will be a visible representation of the pride we have in our school as we travel all over Nebraska.
MORE THAN A FIELD
LATEST UPDATES
We will have weekly updates on progress and celebrations on the More Than a Field project. So much to be excited about already!
- Dirt work is done and most equipment has been moved.
- There will be a cover crop drilled on the full site to help with erosion.
- The next steps will be determined based on funding available. Our initial goal was to have Phase 1 complete by August of 2026. We are a year ahead of schedule on dirt work, however, Phase 1 is being funded by sponsorships, donations and grants. The dirt work being complete allows us to move forward as funding is secured for each phase.
Next Steps:
- Working with businesses for monetary donations, like-kind donations, sponsorships
- Develop Corporate Naming Rights agreements for different areas of Phase 1
- We have received THREE Corporate Naming Rights Sponsorships as well as FOUR corporate agreements for In-Kind and monetary support.
