We had such a fabulous month with Kate Gridley learning about how to observe and sketch the natural world around us.
We can't wait to show you our work on June 12th!
VINS Field Trip
- Students MUST be at school at 7:45am, unfortunately we cannot hold the bus for late arrivals. We will leave school no later than 8am.
- Please have your child wear their navy Bridport shirt they received earlier this year and comfortable walking shoes.
- Sunscreen and bug spray must be applied before school.
- Students only need a water bottle- we are providing the rest!
- We return around 3:30, with the late bus leaving school around 3:45 when it arrives from Middlebury.
Warm Season Health Office Reminders
Now that the temperatures are rising, I want to send some care reminders out for families to keep in mind.
Sunscreen
Apply sunscreen at least 15 minutes before sun exposure
Choose sunscreen that is at least 30 SPF
Broad spectrum sunscreen protects against UVA and UVB radiation
Reapply every 2 hours or per the bottle instructions
For younger students, adults should assist with application
Bug Spray
Use the appropriate and recommended amount per spray bottle
Adults at home or school should apply bug spray - students can not spray themselves
If using sunscreen, let sunscreen dry for 20 minutes before applying bug spray
Bug sprays should contain no more than 30% DEET when used on children
Ticks
Recommended to do daily tick checks done at home
Avoid brush, tall grass and leaves
Wear tall socks and pants for when in tick habitats
Spray bug spray with Deet on the legs
If you find a tick on a student, an adult should remove it with teasers right way
General Reminders
Stay Hydrated
Wear hats to protect from the sun
Stay healthy and have fun with the outdoors while taking care of ourselves!
If you have any questions please reach out!
