Clawson Public Schools Quarterly Newsletter
As promised, we are continuing our quarterly newsletter from the Office of the Superintendent in an effort to continue to celebrate the great things that are happening at Clawson Public Schools.
In September, we took a significant step as a district as we welcomed 500+ elementary school students to their new school - Clawson Elementary School. Our Central Campus now consists of over 1200 students in grades TK through 12th. The new building is beautiful and filled with all things new for our students and offers them state of the art learning opportunities. It certainly is exciting to be a part of such a significant change in our district and celebrate with our students as they enjoy all our new spaces - what an absolute treat!
As we maneuver through all of the new space and adjustments to Central Campus and our district, we appreciate everyone's help as we navigate these changes. Change of this magnitude is never easy and we could not do as well as we have without the help of all of our staff and certainly our school community. Thank you!!
Happy holidays and Go Trojans!!
Mr. Shell - Proud CPS Superintendent
Baker Preschool Trunk-or-Treat
Our youngest district students at Baker Preschool celebrated Halloween with their annual Trunk-or-Treat in October. Our awesome Baker Staff put on a great show and once again had a fantastic turn out of Clawson families. Well done Baker!
Centennial Celebration - 100 Years of CPS!! ππππ
In October, all of our CPS PTO and PTSO groups came together to throw a fantastic party in honor of our birthday :)!! Clawson Public Schools turned 100 in 2024. Our Centennial Celebration, which was open to all of our CPS families was a huge success! Many people came out to enjoy games, bounce houses, a dunk tank π₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Ά and great food! It was a fantastic opportunity to be together as a school community for this awesome occassion. We truly cannot thank all of our PTO/PTSO groups for the work they did and continue to do for our school district. We are so very fortunate to have them!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CPS!!!
CPS Homecoming & Annual Staff Tailgate
Our Homecoming festivities are always a huge highlight in the fall. Between the Friday blue and gold spirit, the pep assembly, parade and football game, there is so much fun to be had! Additionally, we have certainly turned it into a community event and created a spectacular Friday in the fall! A significant part of those events is our annual Staff Tailgate. Between our parade and football game, we take the opportunity to break bread together as a staff and team and enjoy time outside of the school day. Additionally, it brings so many together to support our students on this fantastic Friday. This year, we welcomed over 250 staff members and their family to the Tailgate and enjoyed a beautiful evening together under the Friday Night Lights together! So much fun!!
Trojan Leadership Council @ CES
A huge benefit to our Central Campus model is our proximity to each building and the ability to mentor and collaborate building to building. Our Trojan Leadership Council (TLC) at CHS is made up of high school level leaders who do a fantastic job of modeling leadership. Each week they walk over to Clawson Elementary School and help in some of our kindergarten classrooms with some of our youngest students. It is a tremendous program and is certainly a highlight for our younger students each week. Well done TLC!!
CES Safety Patrol - Great Start!!
This year I have had the opportunity to spend lots of time before and after school around our buildings. One area that shines bright is our 5th Grade Safety Patrol Team! I have personally witnessed them taking their jobs incredibly seriously and ensuring our students and parents are safe as they maneuver around our new campus. It is an important job and we appreciate all the hard work they are putting in to prioritize safety. Well done Safety Patrol Team and Team Advisor - Mrs. Provost!!
CES/CMS New Gymnasium is complete!
Our new Clawson Elementary Gymnasium is finally complete and fully in use! By day, it will be the phys. ed. gym for our CES students and after school, it will serve as our CMS athletics gymnasium for volleyball and basketball. Beyond that it will get plenty of use from JTB, camps and many other endeavors. On Monday, November 25th our CMS 8th Grade Boys' Basketball Team had the honor of being the first to use this new updated space. We are excited about this new space and look forward to our community seeing it!
