Stony Point Updates
Reminder: No School Monday April 29
Students do not have school on Monday April 29th due to a professional learning day for staff.
Response Requested: Panorama Survey
In previous years, thousands of families let their voices be heard in Albemarle County Schools’ Family Feedback Survey. This informed important decisions, such as hosting more events for families connected to student learning. However, last year, we only had 28 Stony Point responses to this survey. We are going for 135 responses this year!
Please take 10 minutes to complete this year’s family survey for STONY POINT and share your valuable perspective on how we can improve the education of your student.

3rd Q Assessment Reports (Grades 3-5)
Throughout the year, our teachers monitor student progress in many ways. One of the many tools we use at the end of the first, second, and third quarters is a “quarterly assessment." These assessments are created by the division for all ACPS students in grades 3-5 to take.
Your child took their third quarter assessments recently, and we are sending home the results of the reading and math assessments today in backpack mail. Our teachers use this data, in combination with many other forms of classroom and assessment data, in order to see which standards your child has mastered so far, as well as which standards they would benefit from more practice with during the remainder of our year.
After reviewing your child’s third quarter assessment reports, please contact your child’s classroom teacher if you have any questions about his or her academic progress this year.
SOL Testing Schedule
Students in grades 3-5 across the state of Virginia will take their SOL assessments during the month of May. Please let your homeroom teacher know as soon as possible if you anticipate your child being absent on one of their testing dates. (What I Need) tutoring time will end at the beginning of May prior to SOL testing.
