MESSAGE FROM NURSE MANDO

Spring is in full bloom! Let’s take a breath of fresh air and enjoy some time outdoors with our kids again. Spring also means tick season in MA, and the best way to prevent tick-borne diseases is through prevention of tick bites. Always check for ticks after outdoor activities to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Reminder to everyone to come to MSHS track this Sunday, May 7th 4-7pm for our very first Pledge Walk for Childhood Cancer! There will be food trucks, music, outdoor games, and raffles happening at this free family event! Mr. Vinny The Bubble Guy will also be there at 4pm!

Dr. Joanna Christodoulou, associate professor at Mass General Hospital, will help us learn more about dyslexia and how we can support kids with dyslexia at home and at school. Universal free school meals have helped support students and families the past two years. On average, 56,665 more Massachusetts children participated daily in school lunch in October 2022 compared to October 2019. Not having to pay for school meals could save families up to $1,200 per student per year (source: Project Bread). Legislation is being proposed in MA to make universal school meals permanent.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION - Please scan your shopping receipts! Every little bit helps our school! The program transitioned to a new digital format. You can now scan your shopping receipts from any store (like Market Basket, Trucchi’s, Target, Walmart, CVS, etc.) to earn money for our school. Download the app today or send your receipts to school. We are happy to scan them for you!

STEAM Camp

Join us for our sixth annual STEAM Camp for one or two glorious weeks--

July 10-13 and/or July 24-27, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Open to rising first graders through sixth graders. Participate in creative painting and art projects, science experiments, team relays, math fun, clay, sewing, group challenges, theater improvisation, outdoor games and more! Spots are filling so sign up to secure your child's enrollment! Make some amazing memories this summer while realizing how fun learning can be!

WB Athletic Booster Mattress Fundraiser

If you or someone you know is looking to replace a bed in your home, now is the time! Our first Mattress Sale Fundraiser is on Saturday May 20th from 10-4 in the WBMHS gym. There will be 25+ different styles of beds on display for customers to try. The brand name mattresses are brand new, made to order, have full factory warranties, are available in all sizes, and are priced below retail. In addition to beds, there will also be premium pillows, luxury sheets, body massagers, Cordaroy Bean Bag/Nest Chairs, weighted blankets and even adjustable power bases!! Delivery & financing are available.
