Fourth Grade Needs...
We have run through all of our black EXPO markers and all of our boxes of tissues! Feel free to send some in (unless you want your child to start using their sleeve!). That's (s)not actually funny since we have a few who do!
A Note About Forgotten Items...
Dear Families,
Thank you for your continued support and understanding. We want to address an important matter regarding items being dropped off at the office.
We are currently experiencing a high volume of items placed on our "Forget Me Not" table, which is causing disruptions both in classrooms and in the office. To help us maintain a focused learning environment, we kindly ask that you only drop off items that are crucial to your child's day, such as Chromebooks, lunchboxes, Nicky Folders, or backpacks. Items that are not essential, like water bottles or snacks, should be kept at home.
Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated and helps us provide the best educational experience for our students.
Thank you for your understanding!
Content News
Math: We wrapped up our Measurement unit and have rolled onto Financial Literacy. This is a unit that is pretty short since we only introduce these concepts. It's hard for a 10 year old to internalize what these big money ideas are since most of them don't have jobs or have recurring expenses :-). We have introduced the ideas of fixed and variable expenses, profit, and savings options. Feel free to ask your child to tell you about these topics.
Science: This week is all about Weathering. Students learned our new vocabulary by creating tableaus. We also read about weathering and answered questions regarding the passage. Then, we did some discovery outside, finding examples of weathering on our playground.
Social Studies: We are post civil war and learning about the changes in Texas. We compared the constitutional changes that occurred after the Civil War.
Reading & Writing: This week, students wrapped up Module 8! We have been practicing our writing strategies and have been looking at STAAR-like question types. When we return from Spring Break, we will have 12 days of our district Rockin' Review before we take our Reading STAAR test on April 9. I am excited for the students to show what they know and rock this test!
