FROM THE DESK OF PRINCIPAL HERRING
December 2, 2024
Dear Ardmore Family,
As we approach the conclusion of 2024 and prepare for the winter holiday break, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributes to making Ardmore Elementary School an incredible place to learn and grow. Our community is rich with diverse gifts and talents that we share daily with one another and, most importantly, with our students.
From the classrooms to our homes and all points in between, our collective efforts to nurture the whole child are driven by passion, commitment, and a willingness to make sometimes difficult decisions that will positively impact our future. Parents play an essential role in all that we aspire to achieve for our Ardmore scholars. We are truly grateful to you for expertly managing what we know is the most challenging, yet simultaneously the most rewarding and joyful, job of all. Thank you for trusting us with your most precious gift.
We also extend our gratitude to our wonderful, talented, creative, inquisitive, optimistic, resourceful, and resilient students. They often bring us laughter, sometimes bring us tears, but always inspire us to think critically. Most importantly, they make us better educators.
In the spirit of this holiday season, we wish to thank each of you for your unwavering support and dedication to our school. As we enjoy the upcoming festivities, we sincerely hope that you receive and share the abundance of blessings and good tidings that make this time of year truly special.
We are also reminded of our good fortune to serve as the proud Principal and Assistant Principal of Ardmore Elementary School. Our careers as public-school educators have provided us with vast, varied, and richly rewarding opportunities to teach and learn from young people. We believe that the faces of our children best express the true essence of this holiday season, radiating unbridled enthusiasm, untainted hope, and unabashed joy for life and the endless opportunities ahead.
To the parents and friends of the Ardmore community, we wish you a safe and joyous holiday season. Thank you for being an integral part of our school family.

Immunizations
All children by law must have the required State of Maryland immunizations in order to attend school. Parents are responsible for providing proof of immunizations to the school.
If your child receives an Immunization Exclusion Letter this school year, please contact your child’s healthcare provider to make sure your child is up to date with immunizations. Please provide the updated immunization record to the School Nurse. If not provided, your child will not be able to attend school effective the date stated on the Immunization Exclusion Letter. If your child doctor’s appointment date falls after the exclusion date on the Immunization Exclusion Letter, your child will still be excluded from school. If you have any questions please contact me at rayvenia.farrow@pgcps.org or (240) 696-8788.
Health Concerns
Parents/Guardians please complete the blue form that was given to your child indicating any medical conditions and allergies. Please return the form to the child's teacher as soon as possible.
Medications
No medication will be administered to your child without a completed Prescriber’s Medication Order Form (PMOF) and properly labeled medication container. Below is the link for Medication Forms.
If your child had medication(s) at the school last year, a new Prescriber’s Medication Form (PMOF) must be completed for this school year. A new properly labeled medication container must also be provided to the nurse.
