Happy May LSN students and families,
First off, a huge congratulations to our graduating seniors. We are so proud of you and know you will do great things moving forward. It has been a pleasure to work with you the last four years. Congrats Class of 2025!
As we near the end of the semester, we want to share a few reminders for students and wish you well on any upcoming end of course exams, IB/AP exams, and finals. Please let us know if we can be of help at all these last few weeks. We're still here to support all students academically and emotionally. We know the end of the school year is a hectic time!
1) Students wanting or needing to sign up for summer classes can still do so via PowerSchool. If you need instructions or more information about summer school, please visit the summer school website.
2) Please be reminded that all students must complete 10 hours of community service to graduate from LSR7 schools. Summer is a GREAT time to knock out those community service hours. Students and families, if you need ideas, please don't hesitate to visit the Community Service webpage. This page also outlines what does and does not count for community service as defined by the district. A+ hours also cover the 10 hours community service requirement - no additional hours are required for a student in the A+ Program.
3) Current Juniors: As we went over with you in the fall, please make sure you are thinking about your post-secondary options before coming back in August. Whatever your plan may be, we want you to come back prepared to work toward that goal, whether it's college, technical school, military, or the workforce. Deadlines can creep in quickly in the fall of your senior year, so please do your research now and don't wait until then - senior year will be busy!! We will meet with you again in September of your senior year to go through all of the different post-secondary pathways you have available to you. Please remember that SchooLinks is a resource for you to do career and post-secondary planning research and is also available throughout the summer - just click 'Log in With Google' to log in. This is also how seniors will request transcripts in the fall, if needed. Juniors should also bookmark the Scholarship Master document, which will be your one stop shop for searching for local scholarships next year if you are planning on college or technical school.
Again, please let us know if we can help in any way. Counselors will be out for summer break after June 3 and will return in early August. Thank you for a great year!!
