Welcome to the 24-25 school year! Our incredible staff at Eagle Lake has been busy preparing for our Eddies to return to school on Tuesday, September 3rd. The classrooms are prepared, plans are made, and excitement fills the air as we approach this new year together. With all of the tiniest details ready, there is one vital ingredient missing, our students! We hope that everyone enjoyed their summer but we are thrilled to see those smiling faces walking into Eagle Lake. We look forward to making every moment count this school year while we maximize all Eddies' potential to be successful in life.

First and foremost, thank you to everyone that was able to join us at Open House! It was exciting to see all of the students and families. The best part was witnessing how much bigger the smiles on faces became after they visited their teacher and classrooms. Your partnership is essential to making the most of this school year. I will be sending a weekly newsletter with important updates and the exciting happenings around Eagle Lake. • School Hours: 8:22 a.m. - 3:27 p.m.
• Arrival & Dismissal: Students may begin to enter at 8:05 a.m.
• Office Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
• Breakfast and Lunch: Breakfast and Lunch are free to students this year!

Each day we have 100+ students transported to school as cars riders. The more we all work together the safer and smoother it will be for everyone! Parents who drive or carpool please remember to:

• Use only the circle drive do not pull into the bus lot. Car and bus traffic are separated for student safety.
• Make sure your car tag is clearly visible and that your child knows the number.
• Pull all the way up along the circle drive so that the drop off / pick-up area is maximized and help minimize backup on Avenue C and Brady Road.
• Respect our neighbors please do not block driveways/mailboxes on Avenue C.
• Ensure your child is ready to enter and exit your vehicle curb side only - quickly and safely. We plan for 8 students at a time - please do not stop twice in the drop off area.
• Exit the circle drive right turn only.
• Be patient and please do not pull around /cut off other vehicles or drive through the yard! This creates a very dangerous situation.
• Share these procedures with family and friends who may be transporting you child. Please remember: - the minute or two saved by ignoring these safety procedures could result in an injury to a child that could take months for recovery. Please be patient and kind to all of our Eddie families and work together!

The EPS Transportation department has a great responsibility ensuring the safety of children who ride our buses. Last minute changes to a student’s transportation schedule increases the chance that a child may not end up going to the proper and intended location. Last minute changes are highly discouraged!

Any change to a child’s normal dismissal routine add a great deal of responsibility to the office staff, teachers, and drivers and result in unnecessary interruptions to classroom instruction. Please send a note to school or call the school office before 1:30 p.m. when a change is necessary. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

HERE COMES THE BUS!

Here Comes the Bus is an easy-to-use website and app (available at the APP Store and Google Play) that enables you to see the location of your child's school bus on a smartphone, tablet or personal computer. This way, you know when the bus is near your stop, so you can send your child out at the right time, or you can be ready for them to get off the bus. Here's how to sign up:

1. You MUST have your child's student ID # to enroll, if you do not have this information, please contact the building they attend before downloading the app.
2. Download the Here Comes the Bus app or visit herecomesthebus.com
3. Click the SIGNUP Button
4. Enter school code 87338 and click "Next" followed by "Confirm"
5. Complete the "User Profile" box
6. Under "My Students," click "Add". Enter your child's last name and student ID number.
7. Once you confirm your information, you're ready to begin using Here Comes the Bus!

We appreciate the active role that our families take in their child's learning experience! All visitors and volunteers must have a background check completed annually. If you would like to participate in your child's classroom or visit during lunch, please complete the attached form and submit it along with a picture of your driver's license or state ID.

Please understand that while our teachers establish their classroom routines they may not need volunteers in the first few weeks. To lay a strong foundation for the year our classrooms need this time to establish the procedures and expectations. Volunteer schedules will come directly from the teacher and they will reach out when the classrooms are ready to welcome the help.
