Eagle Eye - June/July 2024
Middle/High School Community Update
"Windom Eagle Express: Soaring Through News and Notes!"
CELEBRATE
Dear Windom Area Middle School Families,
We've concluded the 2023-24 school year, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our students, parents, and staff for making this year a memorable and successful one. It's been a year filled with growth, learning, and numerous accomplishments, and I am incredibly proud of our entire school community.
Chromebook Turn-In and Fees
Please be aware that students turned in their Chromebooks. The process took place during the last week of school. It is important that all students return their Chromebooks and chargers to avoid any replacement fees. If your child has any outstanding fees related to Chromebook damage or loss, these will need to be settled before the end of the school year. You can pay these fees online through fee management on Skyward or in person at the main office.
Looking Ahead to the 2024-25 School Year
For the upcoming 2024-25 school year, we are making a significant change in how we manage our Chromebooks. To enhance our educational environment and ensure that our technology resources are used effectively, Chromebooks will remain in the classroom and will not be taken home by students in 5th - 8th grade only (no change to high school Chromebook use). This change aims to reduce damage and loss while ensuring that our students have consistent access to the technology they need during school hours, it also aims to reduce screen time while using pens and pencils more.
We believe this adjustment will streamline our operations and further support our mission to provide a top-notch educational experience for all our students. More information about this new policy and how it will be implemented will be provided at the start of the new school year.
Infinite Campus
We are excited to announce that starting next school year, Windom Area Schools will be transitioning from Skyward to Infinite Campus for our student information system.
Infinite Campus will provide a more user-friendly experience for families, offering enhanced features for tracking student progress, attendance, and communication with teachers. We believe this change will greatly benefit our school community by improving access to important information and streamlining many of our administrative processes.
Thank You
Thank you once again for your continued support and dedication to Windom Area Middle School. Your involvement and commitment are key to the success of our students and school community. I hope you all have a wonderful and restful summer break, filled with joy and family time. We look forward to welcoming our students back for another fantastic year in the fall.

High School Principal's Message
We have reached the conclusion of the 2023-2024 school year! What a year it has been! Thanks to the Windom Community for all the support for our students and staff through what truly was a fantastic school year.
Summer is a great time to unwind, catch up and prepare for the future. As we head into the summer, here are a couple items for your consideration:
Our summer office hours are 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Monday - Thursday beginning on Monday, June 17. The office will be closed Fridays, as well as the week of July 1-5.
Transcripts for seniors will be sent to the institution designated by each senior as soon as final grades are in - no later than mid-June. If you have a transcript request separate of the designated school, please swing by the office during office hours, or fill out the form here.
A note on credit recovery - If a student is at risk of not graduating on time, they will be contacted by Mrs. Squires to enroll in summer credit recovery. If a student failed a course and can make that course up next year while still being on time for graduation, they will be enrolled to repeat the course.
The 2024-2025 schedule is complete and our amazing student services team has been busy meeting with all 24-25 9-12 grade students to finalize schedules. Schedules will be opened publicly later this summer but students should know their schedule before they leave for the summer. Limited schedule change opportunities will be offered in late August and the start of the school year for students who need to make a change.
All fees from this year will be assessed in Skyward and students must pay fees prior to starting the 24-25 school year. Please contact the office should you have a hardship or difficulty facing you regarding paying any fees for Chromebooks or other.
Finally, our big shift for the 24-25 school year will be our transition to a new learning management system. We are leaving Skyward and migrating to the Infinite Campus system. More information will be coming on this exciting new system.
Have an awesome summer - read a book, go fishing, hit the links, get a little work done, be good people and most importantly never stop learning!
