The Borromeo Bulletin #50
Home of the Bobcats: December 12
THOUGHTS FROM DR. VOELKL...
Each morning following the first bell we share a prayer together as a school community. This month's Jesse Tree prayers continue to prepare us for the reason for the season - the birth of Christ. Often this time of year so many of our thoughts land on comparing ourselves to others in order to make sure we have the right "stuff" and are engaged in the "perfect" experiences with our families. We often hear the phrase "Comparison is the thief of JOY." Perhaps instead of comparing and tallying other's blessings we can spend time counting our own blessings while reflecting on how we can be more saintly in our own lives. This year has continued to bring to some degree varying levels of anxiety, frustration and a host of emotions that are a result of our inability to control all that is happening around us. May we look to the weeks ahead with a spirit of hope and a heart filled with faith.
Dear Father in heaven,
Thank you for the special month of December,
a month of bright starlight
and the month of the birth of your son, Jesus,
the light of the world.
Thank you for saints, Lucy, Nicholas, Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Through their example, we can be better servants and grow closer to you.
Fill our hearts with December starlight and the light of baby Jesus
so we can shine for others.
Amen

CAFE HELP
We are grateful for ALL OF OUR Cafe helpers. Our first session (11:00-12:00) is a slower pace with K-3 students and is mostly helping open items, pass out disposable silverware and condiments, help kiddos stand in line patiently for recess, and help wipe off tables. The second session (12:00-1:00) is a much faster pace yet has lots of kiddos 4-8 grade in and out of the Cafe in less than an hour. This is mostly monitoring/walking the room and helping wipe off tables. Thank you in advance and thank you to those who have helped in the past and continue to help!
